Okay a final fantasy that combines a lot, it apparently has a lot of action, some 3rd person shooting and the ability to drive vehicles such as cars, tanks and robots, and it also seems to be doing something that hasnt been seen in final fantasy: basing it in a modern world, a lot of the places are also based on real location's, it has no loading time for battle's so its much faster than KH, it also seems to have a male protagonist instead of another female one, fire arms are also quite prevalent though I dont think guys in fluted armor and assault rifle's go well together but hey its FF, and I do hope this ones a love story like ff8.

A fantasy based on reality...I'm REALLY liking the way gameplay seems to be, like a fast-paced Kingdom Hearts style indeed with lots of others sweet additions. I'm definetly going to enjoy this game more than FFXIII...didn't like that one for the gameplay and the story, both which were very disappointing to me. That Behemoth battle was sweet enough to catch my eye...so yeah, definetly looking forward to this ;P
But...

NO ._____. Anything but the thing i hated the most of FF8, and of the whole series for that matter. Romantic involvement between the characters is acceptable, and it has happened on almost all FF games, but not when it pretty much shifts the story and half the game into a romance novel.

Well you see all ff's focus on different genre's but ff8 had the best love story and thats what got me, and ff8's love story is noticable but not too big that it ruined the story, I mean it was the first final fantasy that used proportioned characters in order to give the game a more serious look, and back on topic the main character is a prince who is singlehandedly defending his kingdom against all threats and behaves more like a mafia member than a prince, their kingdom apparently has the only crystal left in the world due to many nations losing theirs they all opted to use weapons like robot's, tanks, and assault rifle's rather than magic or swords.

Wow! What an incredible trailer. Gameplay looks amazing. I still don't understand what this has to do with FFXIII. But I'm sure time will tell. I want it now!!!

the reason why is because all the games after FFXIII are labeled under Fabula Nova Crystallis, they all have something to do with crystals, the games under it are:
FFXIII
FFXIII-2
FF type-0
FF versus XIII

yeah, but all Final Fantasy games have FF in the title and are unrelated. Most even have crystals as a focus of the game and are unrelated. I hope there is more of a tie between games than that. I'd imagine it would have to since they're using XIII in each title. Just not seeing it yet. But it's early. Can't wait for more though. I loved FFXIII.

From what i've learned about FF Versus XIII, it is indeed part of Fabula Nova Crystallis and the events happen in the same "universe" as the other FFXIII games (from what i see, more similar to Xenogears/Xenosaga than FFVII or FFX and their respective sequels/prequels), they might not necessarily have to deal with crystals but they all have deep connections and similar roots in general, and could even relate and "link" with each other at a point. However, Versus XIII is different to the other games in the FNC, in that it doesn't relate to the rest of the games or will have a direct connection with them. It seems more like it's going to be a "What if FFXIII and their magic and fantasy were to exist in our real world?"...taking aspects and details of the other games but putting them into our world, like if they had existed all along but our society having taken the same kind of advancement we had, creating a story that would be loyal with the merge of both "realities" (no princesses or wizards or knights in shiny armor, but still with magic, monsters, and crystals). A very cool idea, IMO.
