That's right! I'm taking it back to DREAMCAST! But in all honesty, I'm really just wondering who's played it, who's beaten it, and if people are willing to give it a try. Its a wonderful simulator if you're fine with difficult controls.

This game was amazing. I tend to like Gundam action games in terms of simulator-ness and this one wins. Vs is stupid, everyone keeps falling over and getting back up. This is more what it would actually be like, plus an epic story and team control. The characters are even in Gihren no Yabou. It's pretty much the only console fps I like, since as you noted the controls for such a thing are inherently terrible. Even 0081 isn't this immersive, although I like that too. In many ways this is just a sequel to the old psx/ss fps's like "mobile suit gundam" and blue destiny, but the graphics, controls, and gameplay are finally at a level that's bearable to play. Why they don't make another I attribute to Japanese fps aversion and maybe some bandai perception it would be eaten alive by western shooters in today's market. Damn, now i'm gonna replay it.

I fixed the control problem by using an emulator on my PC so I could customize the controls and just pop the disk in to play it, but I still play it on my Dreamcast from time to time because it runs a lost smoother and has a bigger screen.
