A Fragment of our dreams

Post by Tobias »

Hello, My name is Sam. In my introduction thread I mentioned being able to work in C++, Java, etc, I picked up these CPLs because of .Hack. I remember seeing early episodes of .Hack//Sign as a kid(ages 9-10) The story was gripping and the characters really had personality, though the one thing I remember more than anything else was the idea. That idea of taking a relatively new form of media and expanding it turning into something more than a game. The world to me represented an idea and a dream. I picked up programming because I knew that Bandai-Namco was never going to truly recreate the world and that it would be left up to the fans. Now I'm asking you all, as a fan, and as a friend, to join me and help create this dream that we all share! I've seen those fake threads around talking about doing this same thing on a smaller scale. I remember when that 2D version of the world was still up and operational, In fact I still have the install for both the R:1 version they had, And the R:2 files/install that was still in early alpha stages. I'm not sure if any of you remember them or not but I do. I think that we should take what we know and love about the series and make it something real, for our sake and for every other .Hack// fan out there. What do you say?
(As of right now I have maybe 700~ish pages of pre-production script written out)
This is a huge project to say the least and is no easy task, Any help at all would be appreciated. Anything from suggestions for the game to artists who can help with the concepts to people who can help with the actual programming itself. We can discuss the basic stuff here and do the more in depth stuff over skype. Who's with me?

I would like to help, but I don't have any technical programs, for things like that. I am only useful at drawing technical computer stuff I know nothing about. :(
I can draw anything I see a picture of like an identical version of it, though I like to take bits and peices of styles from others nd make it into my own most of the time. Again I would help but the most technical things I have are paint and a scanner. -_-;

@Shiori That is actually one of the few things we don't have >.<
We have all of the class information down but have nothing on their weapons and armor. I know that according the the game most of the armor animations are the same(With different variations on color and designs)
I know that at the time they either didn't have the time or money to do different armor and weapon animations for everything. So if anyone might have any pictures of armor or weapons from the games it would be appreciated. Also infor on said weapons and armor. Some examples being Marlo and Helba's armor from the games(I know Helba's armor is a special case but you get the idea) Any pictures of character models, root towns, playing fields, etc would be greatly appreciated!
