Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated, Reiko sorry for running away for so long, but the truth is after I stopped work for CC Corp I wanted to do something to make up for the destroying 『The World R:1』, The Truth is I heard about this game that can time travel back into that『The World』, the problem is that not many .hackers can play it for lack of skills in a certain language, So to give them a glimmer of hope to that they might see that 『The World』 and all other 『The World』's again, I have a few images which they might enjoy.

Now, judging by the quality of the post, I'm going to call troll. However, the screen shots have me intrigued. I'm guessing you edited the game file to have English on the menu? I have to admit, I got excited for a second, though.

They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and that is what these screen shots show, the one small step for .hackers, one giant leap for those who finally want to enter 『The World』 once more.

You say just edited the game file to have English on the menu, as if this is some small feet. It might just be one menu of many, 4 lines of thousands but I assure you can remain excited.

Look at the bar on the bottom, that is not in English on the Japanese release.

Yes it works, those screen grabs were taken of my PSP I plan on posting a video when I have a more to show off.

I am in my last year of university so my highest priority is graduating, and this is now a secondary priority. Expect more progression after April 22.

There are 2 types of cut scenes, videos and comic style,

Videos are next to impossible to translate in a playable format, I will need to get an official SDK in order to encode them, or I Will have to work some magic which psp hackers over the past five years that have not been able to.

Impressive. If you really continue with this, you'll grant so many .Hack fans one hell of a wish.

But how is your japanese knowledge? If you can edit the text one single comic-style cutscene, then you could edit the text of any and every possible comic-style cutscene in the whole game without any bigger problems, should be more tedious than difficult...but, do you have the enough japanese skills to be able to translate ALL of those cutscenes perfectly?

Right now it is just me, but I have received a couple of PMs with offers to help, they are appreciated and welcomed.

I don't actually know Japanese which is why I am currently working only on the menus, I can easily pick up patterns in the string file for those and there is nothing major is lost in context with an approximate translation of menus.

I actually had a breakthrough this morning I found where the comic scenes files are, great news, bad new... they are not in any form chronological order. I hope to post an example (not with final text) of a mod to a cut-scene, later today.

Honestly up to now a video of me navigating menus would not be very interesting, but I think i can say I have something more interesting to shoot for my next build. But that will happen after school today.
