The good old Youtube

Many people miss the good old Youtube. Remember when Youtube had first channel layout style? Remember the yellow subscribe button? Remember the star ratings? Remember when they didn't mute your vids because of the music? I started my Youtube account in the new era, but I do miss those old Youtube days.

Now these days you see ads so much. The commercials are so annoying. Some are even a min long, or they have you choose what ad you see. Users like Silvagunner, and Deoxysprime accounts were deleted. Those two had the best videogame OSTs. Well someone else would always upload yet still you couldn't find any other users with so much music. Remember when Youtube wasn't all connected with Google? Also you notice that videos with many views gets deleted, and then put back up again by some company, or someone famous?

The looks of Youtube also fails. I know you got to stay up to date, but they can't do a better job with the video players, and buffing videos on different qualities? Sometimes it takes forever to watch a video, but it loads up faster when I move the quality up. There is many things that just doesn't make sense with Youtube these days. Remember when you didn't have to log on to watch certain videos? I'm talking about the flagged Youtube videos. There are videos with so much swearing, but videos with minor things get censored.

An example of this is on FailBlog there was this vid when someone vomited on a roller coaster. The video show an awesome failure. A few days later the video gets flagged. WTF How is that mature content? This is just one example of 1000s of Youtube's fail censoring. Now these days on Youtube you notice how many failed comments you see. I do think those Like/Dislike comments are funny, but you see far to many of them. The community of Youtube is getting worse each day.

I like Youtube because of the videos, and that it is useful for finding info. I hate how Youtube basically sold out.

Commercials help keep the website free!
That's all I hear every website say now.

I agree, youtube has been pissing me off ever since they've been making people login with a Google Account to help "improve security" and "decrease account theft". How the hell does forcing people to make an Google account solve anything?

You know what's even more annoying? Rentals. Remember how you tube started making you rent certain movies and shows? Apparently for around a dollar you could 'rent' an episode or video in order to watch it. When did you tube start worrying about being a tv show place?

Yeah... That never happened... You might have been a victim of a virus.

I didn't know you could 'rent' stuff on it. Psht, that's what netflix is for and you can watch as many as you want. You only have to pay a certain amount a month.

It's Google starting their bid to privatize the internet.
Also, if you ask me, the internet has already gone long past it's glory days.

Another case of the "good old times being so much better", huh?

I agree with many things said in here, even though i haven't been "victim" of some of them myself. I usually don't have problem with playing videos, and since all i upload are gaming videos, i've never had them flagged or deleted or whatever. Well, i've ONLY had 2 videos deleted...and they were the "deleted scenes" in the Death Note OVA, and i actually only uploaded them so a couple of friends in another forum would be able to see them. I knew they were going to be deleted too, so it also served as a "test" for me to see how long it'd take them to delete them, and what happened once they did. It took them about 2-3 weeks to delete the videos, and i got an e-mail saying, in formal and pretty words, something like "DO THAT AGAIN AND YOU DIE!!11!1!1"

I did like the old layout much more...I hate the current profiles, and i have such a HARD time to see comments, especially the "reply chains"...back then i was able to follow the chain easily, but now i usually give up and tend to ignore the comments altogether except for the ones viewable at first. I've had much more trouble uploading videos recently than before...2 times already in just a week the videos have remained "stuck" in the processing and if i cancel it it cancels the WHOLE upload, forcing me to upload it all over again ;/

Also, i know that the censorship has gotten ridiculous, mostly after Google took over everything. Nowadays, other than the example already given by zaseo, you can't even upload a music video with 30 seconds of ANYTHING "licensed" without having it deleted, and if your video contains ONE second of a boob slip, it gets all flagged and deleted too. But you can find videos of shootings, tutorials about how to make grenades or use weapons, and even a person getting all beated up to death with no absolute problem. War and violence FTW, a single exposed body part for a second FTL.

Oh, and it's not only YouTube itself as a site, but the community itself that has gotten way worse than ever. Apart from the extreme ignorance found in the comments everytime, EVERYONE, and i mean, EVERY DARNED USER OR AT LEAST THE 95% OF THEM, ALL want to make their "Vlogs" so much, demanding for comments and views all over. I really, REALLY hate that...i find them darned ridiculous for the most part, most of the "Vloggers" aren't even 15 years old, and everyone tries too hard to be either too serious or too funny. Using effects only makes things much more awful. And like with everything nowadays, there's no originallity whatsoever, and everyone just wants to do what the "popular" users are doing all over. And some of the most popular channels are about an hyperactive kid talking with a very annoying voice all over...and an ugly asian just looking at the camera without saying one thing...maybe an odd sound every 100 videos -____-;

I feel old for asking but... what exactly is the point of a vlog anyway?

Back when there was still porn on it? Or when it first got popular?

Now they stopped deleting the audio or video entirely. They'll block it in the countries where it isn't allowed at all, and the countries that have deals/set ups can view it but with a chance of having a commercial pop up first.

Yeah, Youtube, and the WHOLE internet is getting corrupted, (I hope these forums don't end like that or i will cry) and about the Things asociated with Google, i got an announcement for you: DON'T CLICK THE GOOGLE ADS OR GOOGLE THINGS IN OTHER PLACES THAT GOOGLE!!! if u do that, the google persons and the ones who put those "Google Ads" wins money, and yeah, by just (Almost!) seeing a video in the 'New Youtube' google wins money, that's why i never liked the changes in Youtube, as TheSorrow said, You can upload a video to youtube where you kill someone with a homemande grenade and you show how you did it, then show his/her organs and eat them and then kill more people in front of the camera at it doesn't get Flagged/Deleted, but if you show a LITTLE, TINY, BIT; of your ass it get's Flagged and deleted, Youtube is a Complete "Epic Fail"

You know what really sucks. I shouldn't not have to rent Fist of the North Star Ovas. Youtube should be promoting such manliness instead of celeb crap like Justin Bieber. Well if you have Firefox, and Adblock Plus you can block most ads. You just got to set it up right.

I know I have already seen the Ovas, and all yet still. They are charging, or blocking things that don't need to be rented, or blocked.

I hate when music has to be blocked merely because its copyrighted. Unless there is proof that person is making money off of posting the music, then they shouldn't block it.

Youtube use to be the play were you can find everything. Now there is usually some catch, or annoying commercial. Well least the internet can provide other ways of viewing things Youtube has blocked.
