Recently, there was a rumor stating that Kratos, the famed anti-hero from Sony Santa Monica's God of War series, was making a debut in the new Mortal Kombat game as an exclusive playable character in the PS3 version, set to be released in the first quarter of 2011. The trailer below confirms that said rumor, revealing Kratos at the end, interrupting a fight between Sub-Zero and Scorpion.

He's got the Blades of Athena still, plus the Golden Fleece. IMO, that's all he really needs.

@Erranty, I'm pretty sure some weapons will be added to his moveset. Note that in his Soul Calibur Broken Destiny appearence, he had the Blade Of Olympus and Icarus' wings mixed in with his combat style.
@TheSorrow, Yes. They have great potential to give Kratos some of the most brutal fatalities ever.

AND..We'll have the oppertunity to rip Kratos to shreds, a feat that was once thought to be impossible.

Since he uses weapons in the trailer, I think you can be pretty confident in assuming that he will be able to use his weapons to some extent in the same way every other MK character with weapons has been using his or hers for over a decade.
As far as XBOX fanboys are concerned I don't think anyone will care. A few will complain but I would guess this is going to blow over about the same way to the exclusive Joker content for the Playstation 3 version of Arkham Asylum did.
So far this game is shaping up to be pretty excellent.
