This is more of an inquiry, is fanfiction allowed?

It's the creative writing section as well, so yes. Fanfiction is fine.

You can always ask for constructive criticism if/when you post your fanfiction. People will probably let you know what they think one way or another.
Looking for beta readers is fine, too. Just don't harass people about it or anything. :P
