Does anyone play any MMORPGs?

Anyone play any MMORPGs? I play Runescape, and its a very fun game. It sucks that the game is declining rather rapidly ever since Mod MMG(ceo since 08) came in.
The best days of that game was when there was free trade, and the old wilderness/pking. With old wilderness pking was so epic. If you attack someone first you got skull. If you die while skulled you lose all of your items. You can save one if you use item protect. You petty much get what ever the person drops. Only there best 3 items non skulled, 1 item with item protect, or all items are yours for the grab if you kill them. The game is petty much a scaled down version of WoW now.
I try out WoW, and it is epic. The thing is it cost so much per month, and I have to save money for college, and other stuff.

I can't stand Runescape or WoW. But I do have a nice list for you of better ones. These are all free to play.
Perfect World International: Standard MMORPG with excellent graphics, TONS of options, an insane amount of character customization to the point where you make every aspect of your character's face and even make their clothes!
Air Rivals: Arial Combat MMORPG. I've spent more hours on this than any game in my entire life. The combat is real time, no cast time for spells and junk. The PvP is like nothing you've ever seen! And the environments are wonderful for people who enjoy that feeling of freedom. The downside is it's a real grindfest to level up and gets really annoying when you aren't grinding with a party.
Gunbound: Strategy based Tank MMORPG. Its something you have to see to understand. You're really just trying to kill other players by calculating angles for your shots.
Sword of the New World: Granado Espada Multi character MMORPG. You control 3 characters at once! Based around the time Spain came to take Mexico, which means rifles, sword, fencing, and interesting clothing. Nice soundtracks. Amazing graphics, putting most MMO's to shame! I liked this one a lot.
Atlantica Online: This one plays like the "Shin Megami Tensei: PERSONA" series, just as an MMO. I wasn't really a fan of that play style, but if you are there's nothing wrong with the game and it has good graphics.
Shin Megami Tensei: IMAGINE: Highly Pet based, futuristic MMORPG. It's based off the PERSONA series, but it has the regular MMORPG play style. It has beam rifles, swords, and THOUSANDS of pets. You can actually make nearly any monster your pet in this game, combine pets to transform them into new pets, and store them for later! Though the pet storage areas have a monthly fee if you wanna use that feature, but you do get the first month of monster storage free before you decide if you wanna keep it or not...
Anarchy Online: Futuristic Sci-Fi MMORPG. This one has a 1 year free trial, which is more than enough to get to level 100, but they have a level cap of over 300! Its a very high depth game, with more than 18 basic character classes, and tons of job traits, weapon classes, abilities, and property control! Basically think of it as Star Wars put in perfect game form without force powers (unless you're a psychic or Nano user).

Mabinogi is my game of choice. Sure it's a free to play MMO, but I've probably spent over a thousand dollars on their cash shop. Somewhat a pretty old game, but the quality of it keeps it interesting to me.

I've only really invested any significant amount of time into four MMO's.
1. Runescape (1 year)
2. World of Warcraft (2 years)
3. Aion (1 month)
4. EVE Online (2 years)
I played Runescape during middle school with a few classmates of mine who also played. After being convinced into getting it, I began playing World of Warcraft on the Christmas after its released and continued playing it for two consecutive years. After retiring my WoW account completely and never going back, I migrated to the universe of EVE Online for about a year, took a year-long break, and then played for another year. Once that subscription expired a friend of mine recommended Aion to me, so I bought it and played the free month-long subscription. I was surprised at how good Aion was but I never got around to renewing my subscription because I didn't have time for it when it expired. To this day my favorite MMO is still EVE Online and f-ck anybody who **** about the gameplay being "boring" or too slow-paced.
Also, this is my pre-emptive
Guild Wars is not a goddamn MMORPG statement.

Gunbound isn't an MMORPG. It's not even a massive multiplayer online game. It's just an online artillery game.

Runescape= Sucked. After I moved from New Jersey to North Carolina, my friends back in NJ convinced me to play it, mainly b/c it was the best way for us to keep in touch. Then as I started to get (extremely) bored with it, one of my friends and I found Ragnarok Online. And we started playing that...still do.
People say that Ragnarok Online is dying, mainly b/c it was released in 2003 and with the all the things that happened now, Gravity's attempt of making a sequel to the game failing epically, people quitting, players that focus mainly on PVP saying that the game is "un-balanced" etc, etc. But I don't think so. A lot of those things are true but I still love RO.
I also played ROSE and Aion. ROSE was my first 3D online game, it was really fun at first but after awhile I got bored as well, not only that but the private server I played made it REALLY hard to level up solo. I also played Aion too, for about a few weeks. S1lentOp is right, it's an awesome game..but the server I played was just boring and hardly anyone there. So, I just left. Not only that but alot of the quests were glitched up plus I couldn't find any stronger places to level up.

I Played WoW for a bit, but then I thought; screw it. I can't be bothered to level grind like this, and I want to do raids.
I managed to reach level 35, but then I just gave up on it altogether.
As for EVE, simply put, though I didn't last more than a few weeks, it is one of the best MMOs I have ever played.
The graphics are stunning, the environment is VAST - Hax Vast - and it's set in space. F*cking space. How more epic can you get?

WoW - Played for almost 4 years, but I quit a while back. It's fun, but it was just taking too much of my time. I only got one 80 dk. I couldn't level the rest of my 70's up due to boredom. All of them are stuck at 74. Not coming back to that game.
FFXI - 5 months, but looking for group is such a pain sometimes. You need a macro for everything, no seriously, you need a macro. Can't solo anything and it didn't help that the people who joined with me also quit.
Aion - 1 month. It's harder to level than WoW, but I enjoyed it. Only problem is that mages own in grinding and dps early and later on. Melee class and range class kind of got the super short end of the stick. Clerics can wear plate. I think priests can too.
Shin Megami Tensei: IMAGINE - I also played this, but I forgot all about it. I quit early on, was really low level and didn't want to invest that much time into it.
Of those four, I like Aion the most. The increased difficulty actually made me think and it wasn't as punishing as FFXI.

I play Runescape and Maplestory.
I've played Runescape for 7+ years on and off.
Classic (which then was then known as just runescape) was the best of the game, IMO.
But yeah.
Add me on runescape if you want.

Just remember when you, if you, PM me on there to remind me where I would know you from.

A better question would be, "Does Gaia even count as a game?"

Gaia is a kid version of Myspace, or Facebook. It is social networking.

The only thing MMO about Gaia Online is ZOMG. Everything else is pretty much social networking.

The entire game is a mini game. It has no story.

Not even that, just make it fun. Because Monster Hunter is almost the exact same way. So storyline, no real point, just fun and collecting, and challenging your own skills. But I guess MH's graphics and soundtrack help a ton too.

Of COURSE MH has a storyline!! It's just hard to see. You need to hunt various beasts in order to be able to qualify for the mission where they find the Ukalnos, and you have to effectively save the village from sheer destruction.
side note; Ukalnos is the hardest final boss I've ever faced ;_;'...
