Now, i dont know if i missed it or what, but i swear i just finished watching NGE (neon genesis evangelion) again, and i saw it when i was younger, and i swear to god i saw an episode where Shinji became the LCL in his cockpit, and they retrieved the EVA to see that he was just gone!! but i just rewatched it and i didnt see that. there was some thing about Shinji denying his own existance so he didnt exist... or somethin like that. I dont know guys, am i trippin or did i dream that, or did that actually happen?

P.S. I remember misato crying over the empty cockpit and then shinji came back naked...(censored ofc)

Seriously, that's episode 20, after the battle against Zeruel (Shinji reaches the maximum synch ratio or something like that during the battle), and, he turns into LCL, and has a serious mindtrip while inside the Eva, and later appears....and i remember that episode having several inconsistencies (such like him entering to the cockpit with his school uniform...but then when he disappears, we see the empty "Eva pilot suit"). But anyways, yeah, it's that episode :P

Dunno if what you watched was the remake, or that one version composed of like 4 OVAs which i wish to see but keep forgetting about downloading, but if you did, then it probably wasn't in that version. But in the original one, i'm 200% sure it is. I mean, i watched it like 7 months ago last time. lol

All versions of the series that don't have Makinami are pointless. Like Aura, Lightning, and human Cubia, she's yet another reason that Maaya Sakamoto is kami. She's also another reason Yoshiyuki Sadamoto is kami. And why glasses are kami. Yeah, she's pretty much just pure kami. This is scientifically provable: all Makinami merchandise in Japan costs at least $5 more than the equivalent Rei or Asuka merchandise, which in turn costs $5 more than the equivalent Shinji merchandise. But hey, even Shinji's doing better than Sachiel...

He has anti-social behavior and low self-esteem because he has abandonment issues; it has nothing to do with Asperger's Syndrome, as we see that he was a perfectly ordinary 4 year old before Yui vanished and Gendo threw him out. Subscribing Shinji's issues to pre-existing mental disorders destroys the entire point of Shinji's character: That he represents what people like the viewer will become if they don't form meaningful bonds with people.

Oh hell, I know Shinji isnt autistic or anything, hes just a very f'd up individual. His mom die's, and then his dad is a anti-social psycho who.. tries to make every soul in the world into one just so he can be with his wife again, which is weird since he screwed both the Akagi women in the show.. not that shinji knows that, but dam i could go on a full on analysis of shinji, but this topic isnt exactly aimed for that... maybe i should start one (i got time to kill)

 Technically wrong; Gendo was opposed to the idea of Instrumentality, the merging of all souls. That was what SEELE wanted. Gendo planned to hijack the process and basically join Yui inside EVA-01 and become like a god with her. He screwed Naoko Akagi because she was really super into him, and there was pretty much no other thing she'd give up her genius and talent for, since she didn't want his money.

Because she was hot and he didn't have a wife anymore.

For the same reason as Naoko. She was useful, and she wanted his affection. Honestly, Gendo doesn't care for either of them, and doesn't find them sexually attractive, but if baiting them will get him closer to reuniting with Yui, he'll do it. (Naoko even dressed like Yui in some scenes, clearly trying to gauge his interest).

I'm pretty sure some of them meant harm. That certainly didn't hurt the creepiness, though...
