So there has recently been a rumor going around us digifans that a new season titled so far Digimon:Around,will be the 6th season coming out of the anime. There is a new digimon world game coming out for the DS and some speculate that the translation on that confused people on whether or not that a 6th season was true. But in the meantime, I am hoping for a 6th season of the show.
So what are everyone else's thoughts here...if you even care about Digimon?

Honestly, I stopped caring after season 2. Season 3 just ruined it for me. I liked it when it wasn't about the cards. That and I had a crush on Kari, but come on, that was frigging 9 years ago, I was only 11....

I might give the game a try though.

Im 18 almost 19 and its one of my most favorite shows especialy growing up as a kid. so really thisnew season is making me excited so ican remember the good times. Digimon was my first anime as well. oh and if your interested the new game is called Digimon Story: Lost Evolution.

Now I can relive all of the painful memories of humans hijacking the laws of physics, befriending and training carbon copy pokemon protoypes, fighting in a world where every digital creature has "mon" at the end of thier name, transforming with the help of 22nd century pagers. Why post on a topic about a subject you don't care about? Pretty pointless if you ask me. And if you knew anything about Pokemon and Digimon,you would know that Digimon started out as a Tamagotchi for boys and then evolved into the anime. The only similarities it has to Pokemon is the many types of monsters and the evolution system at its most basic form.

You mean posting the reasons why we don't care is meaningless? Figures. I'll watch it for the chance of it becoming at the very least, interesting again. If not though, they should just quit while they're ahead.

In all seriousness though, I would like a source as well, if possible. I've gotten back into Pokemon (I'm loving every minute of Heart Gold) and want to check Digimon out too.

I myself don't have the source page itself,but the article talking about the new games for DS and Wii said something along the lines of the next season. It was all Japanese so I can't read it, but those that can translate somewhat have been trying. Sorry, but when i find the actual source, I'll post it here.

Ditto. Except I had a crush on Izzy, not Kari. And I probably won't try the game. I was a HUGE fan of seasons one and two. After that it was just... Bleh...

Maybe I'll give it a watch, I am a huge Digi fan, but I still like the original series the best.

The truth is...I am Auratwilimon. I'm Super Ultimate level. My Digivolution line is as follows:

Abortiomon > Autismon > Hermaphrodimon > Godmon > Paimon > YamiAuramon > AuraTwilimon

The truth about AT has been told. I like the first 3 seasons the best. It was funny when Guilmon would say Takatomon.

He only does that in the English Dub, and it is sort of a nice Woosleyism. In the original Japanese, he only calls him Takatomon once, then never makes the mistake again. JP Guilmon is generally a lot smarter, but he's also way cuter, imo.

The English Dub of Season 3 was pretty much the only one that wasn't tremendously awful.

The Takatomon thing was the only thing I remember actually liking about Season 3, besides the cuteness that is Terriermon. I stopped watching after 10 episodes or so.

Also, AT, I gotta ask, how much time do you typically spend as each Digivolution?

I aged through them naturally.

There is another digimon season? I just hope its like season 3, IMO that was the best one. It was the most... "Realistic" I mean they fought digimon who were trying to KILL humans. (Not to mention it is one of the least edited seasons, I mean hell Beelzemon's ultimate attack had a pentagram in it, How did THAT get past editing?)
