Dante's Inferno

I recently played a demo of the game mentioned in the topic title at hand. I must say, this game is incredible. In more ways than one, it's quite similar to God of War, in terms of gameplay mechanics and cinematic action, moving at a crisp 60 fps. Even though it was a demonstration, it did it's job impressing me, as I'm now saving up to get it as we speak. For those who haven't played it, you're really missing out on a well-polished action-packed video game. Based on the epic poem, Dante's Inferno is truely a work of art, with stunning visuals and clean, well made graphics. It's out now, for the X360, PS3, and PSP. Get it as soon as possible.

This game was frickin' terrible. Even ignoring the potential nerdrage of what they did to the story and atmosphere and all that, this game was just complete crap as far as actual gameplay and everything went. It's a clone of a good game and it couldn't even copy it very well.

Normally I'd say a game being extremely short is a flaw, but not here.

I beat the game in a day, took it back to GameStop and asked for my money back. They gave to me because it was within 7 days and used. The game, was utter and complete garbage. Dante Alighieri must be rolling in what ever tomb they buried him in, because his work was so epically butchered to a point where it was just seven levels of hell, and 15 hours of my life I am not getting back.

Oh, and Dante? Just Kratos minus the Blades of Athena plus Some Stupid scythe that doesn't even cut it.

I'll just wait for God of War III next month.

I'll just say this.  The boss battle against Death was retarded. As if killing him wasn't stupid enough in a immediate sense of irony, he pleads for his freaking life. DEATH pleads for his life. Since when has Death been a pu$$y? seriously. So, despite me lol'ing at the fact that I made Death my ****, the game in general was horrible. Wait for GOW III. Dante's Inferno is just a complete rip-off on an already epic series. However, it has proved one thing. Don't take a perfectly good piece of literature and turn it into a disaster of a game.

What the hell possessed them into making a game from Alighieri's epic???

I just played the demo a few seconds ago, and it sucks. Yea the boss battle with Death was just dumb. Even though the gfx were great and Death did look cool but seriously...really Death? Pleading for you life? YOU DON'T HAVE A LIFE!!! YOUR DEATH!!!

Also with Beatrice, I'm wondering to myself...."since when could a game show boobs that wasn't rated Adult Only?

Yea, this game is horrible. It seemed to me like GoW, Lord of the Rings: Conquest, and the Darksiders poorly mixed together

GOW had nudity to that extent. It even had a mini game based on sex, and got the M rating. I don't think American games have AO rated games anymore.

Money.

Dante's Inferno is a horrible game. It's story is pathetic, it's gameplay is a carbon copy of God of War II, and everything that made GoW a good game is conspicuously absent leaving you with only a repetitive and unrewarding grind that goes on for several hours.

If you even considered buying this game, hit yourself in the face and vow to wait until God of War III comes out so that you can at least use your $60 on the genuine article.

I thought some of the animation was cool, but otherwise the demo I played was laughable. But it was kind of amazing how faithful they were to the stereotype of Americans taking something and awkwardly appending sex and violence while minimizing everything else. Not many things nowadays really live up to that in quite the way this does.

The only thing interesting when playing the demo, was the choice of using holy or unholy attacks. Punish or absolve them. The death fight was really boring. I mean, Dante owned him, way too easily. That killed all my interests in the game.

So, let me get this straight. You fight Death, and you KILL him? That has to be the craziest paradox ever concieved. And he pleads for his life as well? I must play this demo to see this for myself. It just sounds too unbelievable.

And it's not nearly as satisfying, entertaining, or half-logical as when Castlevania does it.
