Sherlock Holmes

Well I went to see the movie yesterday and I must say that I was quite impressed. I entered with only modest expectations and it turned out to be quite well done. They've designed it to be able to apeal to both Sherlock Holmes fans and people just wanting to watch a good movie. The plot is competely original, but fans of the books will notice several classic characters like Inspector Lestrade, Irene Addler, Mary Morstan, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. James Watson of course, and even  a guest apparence by the evil professor Moriarty. There are several differences between the characters in the movie and the stories, but it's well done and acceptable. The movie does focus more on Holmes physical skills rather than the classic detective skills, but it allows the movie to be appeal to a larger audience this way and you'll still see him proving his vastly superior intellect quite a bit. All in all, I'd say watch it if you have the time you probably won't regret it.

I do have to say that it did look good. I saw a preview of it yesterday thinking that it looked good. Until they showed the title of the movie which surpired me because it did seem very sherlock holmesy very much.

I do have to say, it felt a little dry, but good at the same time.

Went in expecting an action flick, came out with the Sherlock Holmes movie I thought I wasn't going it get. It was a good movie, eight out of ten at best. Downey Jr. and Law made a good pair, and also kinda let it slip that these two may have had something else going on between the two of them then what was told. And it was good seeing that they were as faithful to the books as a movie can get. Moriarty, anybody?

I loved it. As far as "focusing on Holmes' fighting skills" goes it works perfectly with what I remember about the original Holmes. I mean, the dude knows baritsu...
