Doesn't matter, the servers were shut down. No way to play it.

Unless you want to play IMOQ's boring ass, stale gameplay all by yourself with no storyline or immersion whatsoever.

You got the bracelet in multiplayer, too, it was a major feature. You could design and run your own area, and it could get randomly "infected" by Data Bugs, and then other players needed to "save" it. Like Erranty said, though, it doesn't really matter, since online mode ended. Singleplayer is decent, and they actually changed mechanics a decent amount. There's a whole new class of co-op spells now.

Which should be pretty useless since there's only single player now, right?

I'm pretty sure they work in single-player, but honestly I haven't tried...

Yay, I'm back on the boards and run into an interesting conversation! I've never explored Fragment, so I know nothing of these "co-op spell" things.

....I sort of got that. I just don't know what the spells are or if they have some other function than just damage/status effect. Not that it matters to know.

Don't have time for much. The game has additional bosses and areas. At the end of a certain level there is a newer creature in the phase area. From what I understand team skills are stored by points and released later.

No, I have it, I bought it last time I was in Japan. Unfortunately, as much as I'll say in fragment's defense, I won't say it's better than White Knight Chronicles, BlazBlue, or the assortment of other games I've been playing instead since I got it. I'm sure I'll get around to finishing single player eventually when I have a .hack craving, but there's no real rush... I totally dig the ability to make a 3-foot-tall character with a huge sword named Oliolio, though. Actually, funny story, my friend who doesn't know too much about .hack created a character that by coincidence looks exactly like Gardenia and Mimika, leading me to slap my forehead...

Should introduce IMOQ to him, and say, guess who you can play. :P

I think some people misunderstood something here...

There's no emulator capable of running Fragment... the "english" one the op is talking about probably is my old Fragment Translation Patch, but I had to put the patch-development on permanent hiatus because of lack of support and hardware...

Afterall its kinda tough to reverse and understand code that is japanese... (Making error messages pretty much untraceable...)

I wonder if I should resume my work - I actually did some network analysis of fragment lately and figured out the common packet header and a few network packets that allow area server login.

(NO! NO MULTIPLAYER YET! PROBABLY WILL NEVER BE UNLESS I GET A FEW DEDICATED TRANSLATORS!)

But I must admit that Fragment has been a worthy buy for me... even if I only enjoyed it because of my codings on it.

Edit: OHH - I nearly forgot...
About the Coop Skills, yes they are there. New characters are equipped with 3 of them as far as I can remember.
Also, a few items were removed from the Internal Item Database, making it impossible to get them, even by memory manipulation.
And a "Guild's emblem" was added, a brooch like item that allowed you to create a online guild.

What else to say... if people asked me... I think Fragment would be a easy target for reversal and creation of a fanbased server, out of one single reason...

The whole ingame dynamics are dealt with by the area server... only minimal ingame contents are handled by the lobby server which was taken down... meaning - we'd just have to reverse and code a few dozen packet handlers... and we'd be set...

A bigger problem at hand would be the DNAS security inbetween the game and lobby... but even those are fakeable by injecting a valid game id of your region that isnt "out of production" yet... Socom games work a great deal there... buy one - rip its dnas data and reinject it into fragment. Works great, its what I used to get proper network access for reversal...

Anyway... I think its my diabolic coder side talking here again. :D
