I know alot of people here are pretty young, but surly a few are in collage, I was wondering if I could make a topic where some of you could help others who have questions. (For instance I am having difficulty with mathematics.) If its ok, do you think we could start a topic like this? (and not just solving the problem for someone, but telling them how we got it.)

Seriously? You want academic help from the idiots on this forum, of all places? There's sites on the internet specifically made for school help, use those.

I don't think the people of this forum are idiots, Hell your as far from it as you can get and your here, that should be proof enough. (though granted some people are not as smart as other on certain things.) I don't think it qualifies them as idiots.

and I read lots of books, but the way they explain how to solve certain problems in the book don't make sense to me. (cant help I am special ed.) Besides... tutoring cost money and I am but a poor collage student. >.<;

You could always ask the teacher questions when you dont understand something -that is what they are there for- don't be afraid to ask questions !

I'm going to have to side with AT and S1lentOp on this one. Although not everyone on the forum is an idiot, many of us don't even have a college degree, and certain users here like to post information on topics in which they are not educated in, which translates to, idiots making up random bullsh*t about stuff. Now, especially if you're looking for academic help, things like that are of no help. It's the same as how a doctor shouldn't go to a 17 year old who took a Anatomy/Physiology course his last schoolyear for help on a diagnosis.

Ratsu, I suggest if your having trouble in math, you can do a variety of things. Go to your professor and ask him to better explain the things which you don't understand, or you can study with friends or classmates, and help each other with the things you don't understand. Also, looking at examples of things like equations or properties, among other things, and seeing how they are used always helps me when I don't understand certain concepts of math. So, when you need help, get assistance from classmates and teachers. But for academic help, sorry to say, you're in the wrong place, mostly just because some users here tend to... bend the truth.

I'm pretty good with mathematics. I just have a bit of trouble with calculus and algebraic division like:
-2x - 2x
3x - 2y
And I can't find "slope" in geometry.

Well...this sucks >.<; I don't HAVE a teacher for that class, its all done on computers. Damn my being "Anti-social" is really biting me in the ass now. >.<:

...Is that division even possible? I know how to make such divisions, but i can't see what number multiplied by 3x would give -2x (or -4x, actually) as result...and i don't know another method; well there was another method involving making rows of numbers but i never learned it properly XD

Now, i have to say i agree with Ratsu's side, but also with AT's side. And let's go step by step to say why i agree with both.
First, the question is "Is it ok if you make a "school help" topic?" I'd say yes, the idea is actually good, and actually, just days ago i had a doubt (and well, still have though i don't "need" to know anymore) of what to do in Calculus when you have to get the derivate of [variable][constant]e^[variable*variable]...most especifically, (a)(5)(e^(at)), i'd suppose that you could get the 5 out and just work with a and e^at, derivating as a multiplication, but i didn't get the solution that way and both books and internetz failed to provide an answer of such case (that or i didn't know how to look for it...then again, did i even know the name of what i was looking for? X-x)...so, a topic where to get help about certain subjects would be quite welcomed.

But it would fail. Why? Because just WHO is going to help you in these forums, let alone before the time where you have to finish the homework or apply the "answer" of the question in some exam or exercise? More than half the members will be all "lolwut" and perhaps spam the topic in lack of a better thing to say and better place to post, and the members who can and would help would either reply like SilentOp or direct you to a page with an url with the letters of "lmgtfy", or would actually provide the answer as you wanted it...but too late. And if the topic actually "succeeds", it'll eventually become a topic where people will get all "OMG HAI SOLVE MY HOMEWORK KTHNX LOL", with 1 or 2 people doing so...people that will eventually realize WTF they're doing and stop, letting the topic die afterwards.

So yeah, you might try, and it's not a bad idea by simply thinking of the idea itself...but it'll go down to similar depths as the marriage topic fell into. The best you can do, other than the common advices suggested (go tl;dr on books, bother teachers, stalk classmates, pray to god for an answer, etc...lol), is to PM certain people who you think they could help, and hope that at least they tell you a good website link or a good book to read. I could and would be glad to help and not just by telling "Go find yourself. lolz"...but, don't expect much from a wannabe engineer who's getting raped in Differential Equations and Thermodynamics, and i have no gurantee if the reply will be in 30 minutes or 3 weeks. Sure, you could ask also about non-Math related questions...but if you need any help on a subject that's not Math, chances are you DO find that in a quick Google search and exactly the way you wanted XD Or it could be something related to Accounting/Administration/Business, in which case i don't know crap except how to make and "value" a project and i'm just taking that subject this semester anyways.

They either explode, merge together, the force penetrates the object...or just whatever that, in terms of Physics, it wouldn't make the force stop and go to 0, or cause the object to move a bit.

The thing with force is that it's just kinetic energy. So the object that was being pushed by it would cease movement and transfer its energy to the unmovable object. That energy would flow to the lengths of the object and eventually dissipate if there's nothing to transfer the energy to, OR go back to the object from where it came and get it moving again in the direction it came from. Sort of like a how a trampoline works, or a wall and a bouncy ball. It could also transfer into the ground from the unmovable object, causing the planet to shake until it splits into pieces.

And technically there isn't anything that can be called an unstoppable force. I mean, look at light! Its the fastest thing in the universe (that exists to our knowledge) and it bounces off of nearly everything, and that's how we see.

And then there's there's the thousands of theories about what it actually does, ranging from it actually being a wormhole, to slowing the flow of time around it to the point that the "speed of light" is meaningless making all escaping light take so long we can't see anything. No it's not, you pseudo-intellectual, it's a collapsed star. A singularity. It is definitely an object, and the fact that it can influence the world around it also makes it a force. Furthermore, it's UNSTOPPABLE.

Blackholes are not wormholes. That's just science fiction garbage. A wormhole is a wormhole. Furthermore, things that fall into a black hole are crushed to the extent of being virtually nonexistent, and information is lost. The light is essentially gone forever, it's force completely dominated by the singularity's.

Uh, no. A Black Hole would just absorb anything we'd throw at it, and nullify anything inside it. Things cannot happen inside a Singularity. Information can't be processed, thoughts can't be made, atoms can't move, chemical reactions can't happen...it's pretty much deletion. And let's just say this: Our current understand of cosmology tells us that after the death of the universe, the only thing left will be black holes.

I love how I talk about intellectual theories, then you suddenly act like there's hard evidence to prove otherwise, about something we can't even analyze according to your information. Please don't try to debunk theories when your own (or the ones you believe in) have no merit.
