Which Full Metal Alchemist Villain is better? Dante (Only in the anime) or Father (Only in the manga) ?

Dante couldn't tie my shoelace.
Father is WAAAAAAAAAAAY better. Mainly because he's gonna transmute the whole world, see's humans as inferior, made the homunculi(an awsome feat in and of itself) and he doesnt need a transmutetion circle or even materials.
and beside's, Dante is pure anime charechter and your comparing her to the biggest villain of the FMA manga. Manga wins out all the time.

The FMA manga sucks, in my opinion. I'd have to go with Dante for the sheer mindf*ck.
Also, how cool is it to use a baby to wreak multi-dimensional havoc? That's Pro-Choice propaganda if I ever saw it.

pfft, as if. The manga shows everything in a much more gruesome fashion, and it actually gives cause of the ishbal war to envy. Not to mention that the other side of the gate is not london.
And father is the one who created the homunculi, and they're all loyally obediant(except of course greed). None of that "lust rebelling because scar is her lost loves brother" Stupidity or them wanting to be human. dante only created like one or two of them and gathered up the rest.
Additionally, lyra is only looking to preserve her body until she gains imortality, where as father already, seemingly has it and appears to be wanting to gain access to the gate or a giant philosophers stone out of the country he himself is speculated to have built.

FMA huh? Man, this series is almost as overrated Naruto.
Anyways, I'd have to go with Dante.

hmm, if i think fma is one of the best anime i've ever seen, would it be better to spend time reading the manga?

Father isnt transmuting the world, just the country, which is still bad ass.
My vote goes to Father.
Ed:Needs his hands to transmute.
Al:Same as Ed.
Roy:Needs a glove and his finger and thumb.
Father:Doesnt even have to move is left big toe.PWN.

I still haven't seen anyone argue over the mindf*ck of using a baby to mass-murder, so I win.
Also, being super powerful does not a good villain make. The fact that Dante had realistic limits on her power and was still human, complete with fear, was what made her so cool.
Besides, I like the homunculus as creations of several different people over history. It gives them way more depth, and Dante screws them over as much as the rest of da wurld.
Also, she brought Rose back into the show, which is never a bad thing. Even if she did have her drugged up on Alchemy to make her complacent.

Agreed. Also I'm going with Dante because I haven't read the manga enough to know anything about Father, and if you can use a new born baby from mass-murder then you WIN instantly.

Dante. She made the coolest homunculus.

You don't count using the country you created for massive genocide for something which we're not even sure of yet as an arguement for sheer mindf*ck?
And it's because he's super powerful that he's a good villain. he is able to preety much get anything which he need's done, actualy done. He is untouchable, and in almost every appearance which he has made, shows it off. He has the entire world on a guilotine and hes barely even holding onto the rope which holds it up.
He also gives hoenheim(can't speel right now) more depth because he seems to be like the homunculus in that he won't die, but homunculus can't have kids, which would make edward and alphonse out of the question. So what is he? Not to mention that he does know what father is planning, even tried to warn granny pinako about it, but still seems content with his life(dispite the looming death).
And also, he has more powers than you auratwilight, so that counts as a win right there.

That quote has made you my Hero of the Week. Yes, she's the one with the creepy music. And yes, she is way nastier than Father.
Father is encumbered by sharing his name with the equivalent character in Codename: Kids Next Door, whereas Dante...well, I don't really think I need to finish that sentence.

That's not mindf*ck, that's just killing everyone. And not even in an entertaining way like what Hitler did.
Seriously, there's nothing cooler in this world than being able to say "That guy? Oh yea, I kicked his ass WITH A BABY, ****!"
And if you have siamese twins, you can call them Babe-chucks.
And it's because he's super powerful that he's a good villain. he is able to preety much get anything which he need's done, actualy done. Then by that logic Naraku's a good villain, which he's not. Villainy is about personality, and the vibe of "Vader-ism" that can be inspired into the audience. Being a demigod does not a villain make. I'd rather have a powerless, weakling thug that can get into your skin a lot more than some random, uninspired, cliche God Wanna-be any day.
And also, he has more powers than you auratwilight, so that counts as a win right there.
No, he doesn't, and I can prove it if we ever met offline.

Agreed.

I assume he's saying the anime Envy looks like .hack's Sora.
Anime characters frequently look alike. Otherwise we'd never hear the end of how "OMG HES RIPPIN OFF SEPHIROTH."

Hosnapz...AT did a double post :O
Anyhow
Dante is a good villan and when I say good I mean she's being a villan for a good cause. She wishes to protect the stone from other humans who could use it to destroy the world or for their own selfish reasons and at the same time she uses a baby to kick Ed's ass. While Father does what now? He wants to transmutate the whole world or some crap like that (somebody said something like that earlier in the topic)
FMA manga fails but I still read it because it's FMA :p

Envy looks like Sora. Wow. I'm proud of whoever decided on that little tidbit: I don't think Evel Knievel would have the guts to make that leap. >.>
