Re: Pokemon Wi-Fi Tournament
Uhhh. No offence, but maybe you should lay back on the rules.
Some are resonable, but the not being able to put monsters to sleep, no items based on luck, no monsters can be the same, and no same two items isn't that great. It's a Pokemon battle man, that stuff happens.
Oh yeah, and can someone tell me how to get my friends code?

From what I hear, there are moves and/or move and item combinations that allow you to put all of your opponent's Pokémon to sleep. At once. There's also a handful of really fast Pokémon that can put you to sleep. Thus, you put one Pokémon to sleep, attack the next turn knowing your opponent is going to swap, and then outrun your opponent and put this Pokémon to sleep. And that continues until all of the Pokémon are asleep -- and they'll stay that way, until they're all KO'd, because you can't stop it. Hence there's no reason fighting against someone like that, because you're not going to beat them unless you have a very, very specific team designed to stop it. ... And that team probably isn't going to fair well against any other type of team commonly used.
That's what I've gathered, anyway. I really can't get into these "you have to remove things that make it easier to win" rules, especially in Nintendo's games (namely SSBM and this). But I do understand what they're saying about sleep. As far as not "doubling up" on Pokémon or items, that's a rule directly from the Stadium games. It's a completely valid point, too, since there isn't much sense in fighting with two-to-six of the same Pokémon. Either you'll be at a severe disadvantage (Ie: having six Marcagos against a Starmie), or you'll have an unfair advantage (ie: having six Empoleons against someone with only one Pokémon suitable for fighting it). I don't personally think status berries should be added to the list, but meh -- it doesn't really make that much difference. The only rule I'm personally against, is the evasion increase/decrease.
As far as getting your own Friend Code, that should become available after your first (possibly second) Gym Badge. Just go to the bottom floor of a Pokémon center and go through the usual motions of saving, connecting to WiFi, etc.[/quote]
O.K. Now I understand why he made that rule.
Alright, I'm joining the tournament now. I'll post my trainer card once I get my Friend Code. (I have to go to a McD's to get a Wi-Fi connection so I can get it)

Re: Pokemon Wi-Fi Tournament
i'd planned to set the date for the tournament when we'd have enough players for a decent tournament. (8, 16, 32, etc.)
