Do u think think that Haseo's first battle with Azure Kite would've been different if he didn't use his starter weapons (Spin Gai Gu, Broad leagged and Schyte Su Shao)?

No you have to understand that the fight was literally Fixed in favor of azure kite. When you fight him later on hes way weaker then he was in the cathedral and later on when he joins Haseo he is not as powerful as he was then.

Haseo really can't  even beat the knights in Vol 3,so it's not really a big question to be answered.

Those aren't really starter weapons. In .hack, the weapons that the character always uses will be the starter weapon.

and just where did you get that information? that is impossible. in the first episode of roots you see tabby getting a new weapon, which she uses for the rest of roots, but it does replace her starter weapon. and have you not played any of IMOQ or GU? people have all sorts of different weapons everyone would have the same weapons as the rest of everyone of their class if that were the case. because they use the starting weapons for simplicity when anitmating the cutscenes does not mean that in a real "the world" everyones weapons would never change even when equipped differently.

i think he means in the movies ull only see the characters starter weapons.

As for the Roots example, those gloves are the exception because of their INTENSE symbolism, and we never see her starter weapons anyway.

Azure Kite won in the cathedral so the story of G.U. could advance. He also lost later on so that the story of G.U. could advance. The stats and equipment have nothing whatsoever to do with the plot. Those are more suited to the players (you and i).

edit: no Haseo's level doesn't matter at the cathedral because anyone other than Ovan who fought an Azure Knight would be promptly pk'ed.

regardless of any symbolism or other reason why she isnt using her starter weapons is beside the point. my only point is that she is shown with a weapon that is not her starter weapon.

Yea, so? The same can be said about a lot of people, including pretty much anyone you fight in the Arena. The point I was making was that, unless it's a plot reason, characters are only shown with the first weapons they're shown with, Starter weapon or otherwise.
