Data seeds Vs. Virus cores

I just saw in Roots at hidden forbidden battle ground haseo and the others had to put Virus cores into the tower but in GU they had to use Data Seeds. was this a miss translation or something else?

Inconsistency, maybe. It is rather odd, but I guess you're just not supposed to really think on it much,.

It's the same deal with Adler's Keys and Virus Cores. It's just gameplay.
