Gunota Headlines wrote: "A very short promo appeared after today's episode of TBS/MBS' "Toward The Terra" announcing a new Gundam series. Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (Double Oh) is set to air at 6pm on Oct 2007. The official site is up providing a streaming promo.

Known details are:
Setting - 2307 AD ("seireki", Japanese for "anno domini")
Characters - 4 Gundam Meisters, who pilot the mobile weapons.
Factions - Solestal Beings (not real sure on the English name right now), a private militia group whose purpose is to eradicate wars.
Tagline at the end of the commercial - "Rebirth begins through destruction"

Rumors about the series have been going around Japanese message boards for some time, especially after Sunrise registered several Gundam00 domains. The proclamation that the setting would neither be in the Universal Century of the original nor the Cosmic Era of Gundam SEED, as stated by Sunrise's Yasuo Miyakawa, seems to have been followed through with. Staff members are yet to be confirmed although the most persistent rumor is that the series will be directed by Fullmetal Alchemist's Seiji Mizushima."

A few notes from me:
-It is another Alternate Universe (AU).
-Little information has been revealed, but it will probably be good.
-Has a Gundam X feel to it. It might probably be a rip of it. This may be their new Gundam X since the original one was cut at 39 episodes, maybe they wanted to take the setting and to complete it.
-Directed by the same director as FMA.

Model kits of the Gundams, names of the pilots, and names of the Gundams.

The reason this Gundam series has WIN written all over it :D The same guy who directed two awsome and story heavy animes is destined to take this new gundam series to the top.

Apparently I made a mistake on the director part. The director is the same one that did FMA, not NGE. However I did read somewhere that was the case, let me go shoot that unknown source.

It's gonna be bad =.=;

I just don't think they can pull off a good series from FMA director....

Better than SEED? I don't know if that's likely, but I am certainly willing to give this new series a chance, especially since it's self-contained in its own AU, as SEED was.

Seed could have been better-for instance introduce azreal/the druggie's earlier, get the major plotline going quicker, maybe even another different fight between kira and rau, but it was still good.

If it's better than seed(PLEASE) it's going to be a damn good serie's, in my opinion.

And, I just want to see the gundam's! XD

I would same awesome to, except if it does reach the states it wont be for a few years. Add in 1 month dvds after that...maybe 3-4 years before we will ever seen the entire series, not including its time until completion :/.

Aww, look at me. look at me shed a tear for you. aww.

IF it get's translated into english, yes you will have to wait. TOUGH LUCK!

For the record, I'm still waiting for the australian release of dothack G.U. vol. 1, which came out how long ago in the state's?

IF it come's out in english, your going to have a while before it get's released, yes. I'm going to have to wait even longer, so just be content with what you've got.

Finally no more SEED. The first SEED was alright but Destiny was the only anime that has let me down ever. Not only that but it pretty much negated any hope of a decent sequel without killing off most of the old cast.

Here's to hoping the next will be better (it has to be, after all no more Fukuda)

People people, this is a thread for discussing the new Gundam series. Not arguing over localization problems between NA and Australian releases. Get back on topic.

Also keep in mind that it premieres Oct 2007. Which means //Redemption and Gundam 00 in the same month, don't forget Halloween. I'm looking forward to October.
