I should be able to max out all the stats on my characters? Are there any stat books for the elements?

Yes, u can. But the stat book only increases these stats,
HP, SP, Phy. ATK, Phy. DEF, Mag. ATK and MAG. DEF.

elements doesn't play a big role in g.u so you shouldn't care much.

Element stats can go as high as 200 if accessories are included, though that value is for the magic users class.

I always thought the elemental stats are for when you use magic, such as if my fire element was 100, I'd do less damage then if it was 200.

Wouldn't your elemental stats effect the damage your weapons do when you have the element attack customization on them? You'd think that they'd effect how much damage you took from that element as well.

I think for non-magical PC the elemental stats are more a matter about defense than attack.

I doubt that because at one point I had on an accessory that gave a weak amount to my elements and I attacked and enemy with Vak Don [As in I used the skill, not an item, Haseo has all spells from those scrolls]

Anyway, I took note on how much damage on average the spell did to an enemy, then I switched accessories to something that gave a huge boost to my elemental stats and used the same spell on the same enemy and I did more damage.

Seems to me they count as attack, as for defense, that'd be if you have something equip with an elemental defense.
