The episode # is pointless seeing how there were two different setups, the DVD # and TV Air #, depending on which one you have or bootleged won't be the same as explained here.

I happen to be the proud and legal owner of it,and got it completly normally via ordering.

Anyway,I won't ask you to search any more.

Then if you have it, why not look inside the DVD sleeve and find out for yourself? Therefore shouldn't you know the answer and be the one telling us rather us telling you?

On the DVD's it appear as 22, however while aired, it was episode 23 because of the recap episode they stuck in the middle of the series on TV and at the end on the DVD version.

But my two sources point out both these facts immediately and don't understand why you need to "search" when it's there and obvious, more obvious on the sheet inside the DVD's cases.

it's also ep 22, it is listed right on the top of the dot hack wiki page, it says right there, and I quote "Phantom is the twenty-second episode of .hack//SIGN."
