They were both pretty easy for me to figure out, but Tsukasa was definitely the easiest of the two. Tsukasa's a classic result of abuse. Pessimism, retreating into yourself, depression, the works. Shinji on the other hand is a myriad of problems.

Seriously Tsukasa is a mere emo kid compared to what Shinji goes through. Tsukasa just has father issues. For Shinji thats just the tip of the iceburg.

Tsukasa is only suffering from a case of child abuse.
Shinji on the other hand, is pretty much considered an orphan, and the only reason his father asked him to return was to pilot a giant robot. Imagine, your father that has abandoned you a long time ago suddenly asks you to come back. Then you realize that all he wants you to be is his soldier, nothing more.
Coupled with his porcupine personality and him raping comatosed girls. You have one VERY messed up emo.

Yea...If you can do that just because your comatose best friends boobs popped out,you have more issues then you can count...But seriously...Like Bulletcatcher said,daddy doesnt love him,mommys dead,daddy comes to him saying"Get you ass over here and pilot this giant robot for me."Barely got a soul girl gets more love from daddy then he does,Angels want to kill him,he bascially killed his best friend,and he lives with a drunk and a girl with anger issues....oh,and a kick ass penguin.

doing this first, I'VE WATCHED THE MOVIE AND SERIES MANY TIMES OVER AND I'VE YET TO SEE OR HEAR THAT TAKINGPLACE!!! WTf? tell me WHEN it happens!

Well it was a better alternative to displaying the ending. For me anyways, I prefer the movies rather than listening to Shinji question himself.
