The only reason they even use Avatars is to data drain AIDA right? so coulden't haseo Data drain them in his PC form? or is his data drain cannon not as powerful as Skeiths Data drain bazooka?

The Data Drain Haseo uses and the one Skeith uses are for two entirely different purposes.

Haseo couldn't DD to uninfect AIDA, he uses it to get   virus cores, but Skeith can't DD to get those. (I think)

But aren't those special virus cores assigned to do that? I know you use those ones in Volume 2 (like in the battlefield), but in Volume 3 you have area hacking, so then the other virus cores (the ones you get by dd'ing) upgrade the lost weapons. There is that difference right?

wen exactly do we get to use DD? do we get it in vol.2 or vol.3 and are the mechanics similar to the IMOQ way of DataDraining?

Well you get to use Data Drain in all three volumes. But Haseo can use Avatar Awakening in Volume 3. All it does is deal damage to the enemies and steal a few Virus Cores.

No, for Sign Hacking you use Data Seeds, which you get from Data Draining AIDA in Avatar Battles. They work like Virus Cores did in the old games, except that every single one of them in existence was placed there on purpose by the programmers. That is, you'll only find AIDA in areas given to you by the story, so there's a finite number of Data Seeds and you don't have to go off on your own to get them. But as far as needing a certain combination in order to do "hacking" and progress the main story, Data Seeds are the Virus Cores of the old games. Accordingly, the altar in the Lost Ground Coiste Bodhar, seen in Roots, now takes Data Seeds instead of Virus Cores, and after Vol.2 it's just unlocked permanently.

Luckily, Data Seeds and Sign Hacking are only in Vol.2, and not used anywhere else. In Vol.3, the Outer Dungeon system replaces any Sign Hacking you'd expect to do. Adler's Keys are also no longer used in Vol.3, and instead you use Virus Cores, which are a one-size-fits-all item almost exactly like Adler's Keys, though acquired via a different means and having a different name. They're nothing like old Virus Cores in use, though. You can only use them to unlock/level up Lost Weapons, though after all of them are fully leveled you can trade Virus Cores to Wise Grunty for stat-boosters and stuff.

Avatar Awakening in Vol.3 is just Haseo using his Avatar on monsters. There's nothing special about it, just that he was too stupid to think of it on his own. It's simply an Awakening that does damage to all enemies and gives you Virus Cores (usually 2 per small monster, and 3 per large monster. AIDA-PCs I remember getting only one out of). It requires a full bar of tension/morale/whatever. Also, you can DD the same thing over and over and it'll give you the same number of Cores each time, which is nice on hard bosses.

Well said. I'd like to add that when you area hack, sometimes you get an item called a "Cheat Code" which levels up any weapon of your choice and boost it's stats up quite a lot. You can go to the Alchemy Section of your guild to use them. I used it on that EP sword I got from Taihaku.
