PS2 Mem card question.

I have a mem card, that has a corrupted file on it, is there a way to delete that file? Or is it still safe to use the card even with that corrupted file on it? I need the space and rather use something I got then go out and buy another mem card.
I have 3 that are pretty much filled well 5 if you count the one with the corrupted file that I stopped using and moved all my stuff off of it, and the cheap one that I don't bother using anymore cause have to put a disc in the PS2 first to use it.

Well the corruption wont go to your other files but, the corrupted data is taking up space. There is no way to fix corrupted data either so its there taking up space. Delete it like every other file normally would.

Actually the corrupted data happened when I first got the PS2 version of RE4 for some reason it just wouldn't save to that mem card and the result was the corrupted file that seems to be protected so it can't be deleted.

That happened to me once too. Were you using a cheat device (ARMAX, Gameshark)?

Nope my GameShark is outdated and has a thick layer of dust on it since I only played around with it when I first got it.
What happened was when RE4 tried to make a system file, it said save failed I ignored it and was like eh I'll figure it out later then tried to save the game and it wouldn't so I just turned it off after exiting the save menu and checked through the browser and there was a corrupted file there on the mem card.
And that's the only game that has done that and on that card, which it shouldn't matter but it's a Japanese mem card.

Ahh, still wonder why only that game all the other games saved fine on it. Would it be safe to move other saves onto that card still, or should I just ditch it and try to manage with the minimal space I have left on the good mem cards then get a new one when I can?

Wait... so how do you delete a corrupted file without deleting your other data? I mean... one of my //g.u. files is corrupted. Is that taking up space or no? <<;; If it is, how do I delete that without deleting my other //g.u. saved data... or is that not possible?

Oh yea already did that with RE4, just moved all the other saves to a different card cause even though I don't play the games much any more I'd hate to lose the saves for em and was worrying since the option to delete is in gray meaning can't delete the corrupted file that it might leak out and corrupt the other files on the mem card. Thanks.
Load your good G.U. Vol 1 file then save it to a different card, then go back and delete the other one if possible.

Oh, well I don't think you can get rid of one save file with out getting rid of the whole thing then.

I guess if this happens and you need the save file, you should find someone else to just copy their own data on it. Like what I'm doing for someone right now. *cough*
I guess the only solution for corrupted files is to delete it so it won't take up space, like everyone else said.

XDDDDDDD XD XDDD Eh-heh...
But I like that Atoli scene... where Haseo just snaps. And when Haseo gets his avatar... and and when you meet Alkaid. That's why I saved them there. <_<;;

Keh, I don't have any of those scenes on my save file. Sorry. Once you have the time, perhaps you should go to someone to see if they can correct the data. At least you have something for when Reminisce comes out, though.

You have to pay for that though, don't you? And hell, when Reminisce comes out, Rebirth is waay behind me. ;P

When you get Reminisce, you'll have Own King, Sleep Wings+5, an extra Broad Wings+5, an Ill Needle+5, and each character at max... so don't take Rebirth for granted. xD

I already had the Own King. As for the Sleep Wings and Broad Wings... I think I had a few Poison Wings +5 or something. And my characters were at the max. ^^
Wait... so you really can get somebody to fix the corrupted data? o.o;;

Yes, I know that, but now that save file is screwed.
You can try.

Where do I do that? Oo

Hell, I don't even think it's possible. You can ask someone who repairs consoles and stuff about it.
