Some volume 2 prep. questions
The howl or Zan Rom, the bursts of Rue Kruz and Vak Don, the slam of Gan Blog, theres no hiding it I love spells. In IMOQ you had to find equiptment with certain spells and some spells couldn't be used by certian classes due to that(Ap Ruem and Ap Vakz ect.). In GU the wonderful yet expecive magic shops sell scrolls to permantly teach a good range of spells to any character.
In GU I taught exery character all healing spells possible and it payed off, status effects weren't an issue and everyone could somewhat function as a healer if Atoli went AWOL. This volume due to carrying over GP you could start the game buying all the scrolls to teach every character how to heal even better. I plan on doing this the second I get to Dol Donna but I need to budget things right.
How much do Rip Fin, Rip Shybi, Rip Maen, Ul Repth and Ol Repth scrolls cost? Also for the sake of teaching Haseo and possibly Atoli early how much do Lei Zas and Ani Zot Scrolls cost?
Another big thing for me is completing the skill list for the volume early. In volume 1 I entered the arena and picked off the two allies or tried to before letting the leader beat me that way I raise my job level without being kicked into the story matches and out of my free matches too soon. Will this be possible in Volume 2 or will you get shoved head first into the championship the second the game starts?
Also Pi and Kuhn were busy during that portion of the game forcing Piros, Silabus and/or Atoli as you allies and the only few who had a good way to level up. What allies can you take into the arena pre-championship?(I'm guessing Kuhn, Pi, Silabus, Atoli, and Alkaid) and also can Haseo use his sythe in the WP earning?
Thx in advance!

Thats a lot. I started off without anything from vol 1...if you basically taken your time in volume 1, you should have about 1 million gold if not more when you start volume 2 i have about 450k (after buying 50 books and 50 scrolls to raise up the weapon skill)
You have more than enough time to train your skills. The championship starts after you get your 3rd form, but like I typed, you should have time to train. However, one thing to note is that the characters (in the storyline) you fight with are set to be on par with you. The stronger you and your party are, the stronger they become.Another big thing for me is completing the skill list for the volume early. Anyway I woudn't recommend training too much at early stages. If you trained too early then later fights in monster areas become too easy as you proceed with the storyline.
Hmm the party changes with the storyline...I can't remember much. I only know that there is MASSIVE changes in your party for the tournament. Except for HaseoAlso Pi and Kuhn were busy during that portion of the game forcing Piros, Silabus and/or Atoli as you allies and the only few who had a good way to level up. o.O chosenoofmana7 is that Sync in your pic? I liked Tales of Abyss too, but they could do more to improve the graphics.
Um actually I don't think you do the WP part this time. I think you go right into the tournmanent. If you do collect WP it isn't for very long. Also you get 3rd form after the first round of the tournament. However I think that you aren't locked out of the regular arena while the tournament is going on but I'm not sure. I haven't actually played the game myself but I watched a play through video of it.

Thank you all so much for your answers! Hmmm... I'm stuck at 300000 GP so I still have some earning to do but things are looking good.
By ample time to train though, which characters will be avalible. It'd be nice if Sakubo and Endrance could get to Job Lv. 20 early on(YAY OrVak Don and Disaster Sword) while still staying at low levels but, its just a good dream I think(You get them after fighting your AIDA-PC stalker's team correct?) Is it just the vol1 allies minus gaspard plus alkaid? Or can the predicted to be most used Sakubo and Endrance jump into the WP earning/Job Leveling?

Tales and .hack// are my two favorite fanchises. I was planning of waiting until I could find good Endrance and Sakubo art for a .hack// sig that I liked but I got sick of waiting so I just used my official tales forum sig. Still waiting for a good avatar though...An0maly wrote: o.O chosenoofmana7 is that Sync in your pic? I liked Tales of Abyss too, but they could do more to improve the graphics.

By the time they join the tournament is practically over. Then you can go back to regular matches(if you can't actually do them during the tournament itself) The Vol.2 tournament is completely different plotwise from Vol.1's. It's pretty much done midgame or so unlike Vol.1's which goes right til the end.chosenofmana7 wrote:Or can the predicted to be most used Sakubo and Endrance jump into the WP earning/Job Leveling?

Are their weapon levels atleast high? By then if they're still using Lateral Moon and Vak Don as their strongest skills I'll be disappointed. Also, I saw a vid of Endrance & Kuhn VS Sirius, AB & AO, can you drop Kuhn for someone else(Say... Sakubo)Jimbob wrote:By the time they join the tournament is practically over. And I see Ion in yours!(And mine...hehe). Well its nice to know other people are looking at my topic though, maybe even posessing the same questions as I(Most likely not though, still)Mellow Grunty wrote:I spot a Sync(<333) In your sig. <3
... Anyway... I don't really have much to say about this topic, I'm only at the arena match against Kuhn's party on //Rebirth. O.o
BTW how can you only be at the match VS Kuhn with a post total that high? Is it the Youcow/ElkAIDs think(U started that right?)?
YAY a well known user posted in my topic!!!! -Waves a 'Mellow Grunty posted in my topic flag' as martching band enters- well Zero and AT have posted in my topics before but Mellow Grunty's a first!
I luv ur Alkaid bashing, you have saved us all from the fanboys -bows-
Still, thank you all for your input!
I don't know exactly but in clips I've seen of them soon after you get them Endrance is using the first new skill and Saku is using a darkness spell. Plus Alkaid apparantly starts with one of the new skills too. So they start skillwise roughly on par with your other characters like in Vol.1.chosenofmana7 wrote:Are their weapon levels atleast high? And no all arena teams are preset like in Vol.1 (you switch around between Atoli, Alkaid, Pi, Kuhn, and Endrance though so it isn't always the same guys like in Vol.1 and Vol.3) So you have to fight Sirius with Kuhn, and Endrance. You never get to take Sakubo in a tournment match in any volume. Sorry.
Edit: In fact thinking about it you won't really be using Sakubo much at all this volume outside of optional quests and such. You can use her more in Vol.3 though.

Well, its good that she's on par with the rest at rest, does her damage per spells pick up after Gaspard's dismal showing and can she be used against the One Sin or the final boss? Also can she heal well enough to keep Endrance & Haseo alive with plain, Ol & Ul Repths, the Rip spells(Rip Maen, Fin, Maj ect.). EG. would Sakubo + Endrance be abled to take down the doppleganger and one sin w/e Haseo's help?Jimbob wrote:I don't know exactly but in clips I've seen of them soon after you get them Endrance is using the first new skill and Saku is using a darkness spell. Also is my fav shadow warlock usable for the moon tree events of is that just Kuhn and Endrance? If not they should have given Hiiragi, Sophra and Mastu null equiptment(Physical damage >25=0) and higher levels. That would add some challange!
Honestly I don't know how she fares compared to Gaspard, other than the fact that she can a better weapon with better stat increases than him. She can be used against the One Sin and final boss, anyone can be used at that point. (and in Vol.3 you can use her alot more throughout the game) Moontree is Kuhn/Endrance only though. As a healer she is inferior to Atoli and everyone always tends to use her there but I guess you could do without her if you want.chosenofmana7 wrote: Well, its good that she's on par with the rest at rest, does her damage per spells pick up after Gaspard's dismal showing and can she be used against the One Sin or the final boss? *Shoves Atoli off the cliffs of Keel Moutians while screaming "Wait for your master, then stay in the abyss where you belong!"* Atoli? Who's that?Jimbob wrote:Honestly I don't know how she fares compared to Gaspard, other than the fact that she can a better weapon with better stat increases than him. Well, its so sad I got so close to using my dream team. Hopefully Kuhn will step it up in this volume, last time he was pretty bland and when he didn't have enough SP for longer fights I got really mad, really fast.
Well, I know ur all hoping this will be my final questions so.
1. Can truely anyone be used against the final boss or just the epithath users + Mastu & Anteres(Silabus, Gaspard and Piros don't know about this whole thing yet. Phyllo must have told Anteres and Mastu kinda was involved when Moontree found out)?
2. For damage per skill who wins, Sakubo or Kuhn?(I swear to god I will use Sakubo as much as possible)
3. Have the arena teams gotten harder, both in the tournement and just plain arena fights? Last volume was amazingly bad arena wise, featuring no Tribal Grapplers and Lord Partizans in the upper levels(I WANT TO SEE A GOOD VARITATY). Are Flick Reapers and Dance Mabres(sp?) in the upper rounds too this time?
4. AIDA fights were a nice gimmic but are the Players still hard(Like a low level Bordeaux battle was)?
5. Do the Or spells deal much more damage(OrRue Kruz, OrZan Rom, OrGan Blog and OrVak Don)?
6. Is the AI a bit smarter? It annoyed me when Atoli used La Repth to heal one person's HP while blowing all her SP... Plus Pi annoyed me how she could never finish a normal combo and 80% of her skills due to their long duration.
7. Has SP regan picked up? Alot of times in the arena matches Atoli would blow all her SP and it would take ages for her to build enough SP for a simple Repth.
8. What are the new customization effects? Last volume we had the status effects, counters, status healing, elemental defence/attacks, GP/EXP/Drop Rate and SP reducers. What next?
9. I've seen vids in which characters ONLY used their new skills. Is that all we're gonna see this time around or will Pi still use Rapid Attack and Endrance attack with Sword Flash this time around?
10. In one promo vid they had Haseo, Kuhn and Pi in a feild filled with enemies called 'Kestral PK' and they were seemingly common enemies and PCs at that. Is this a normal feild? How early can it be used? I know its just theta but out side that is it an exclusive level range or just 50-100?
Sorry to keep asking, I'm just so psyched! Thank you Jimbob for your helpful answers and thank everyone else for their input.

I agree. You've answered more than enough of my questions.evll33t wrote:Jimbob wrote:Now you're getting into stuff I don't know about. As I said I haven't actually played them game but only saw others play it. Sorry.[/quote
its not your fault.
I guess I shouldn't ruin to fun of discovering this stuff on my own too, I'll just have to wait until .hack//Reminisce comes out may 8th(God that last part sounded corny...)

You can buy the books? Those are the ones that raise your stats, right? I thought you could only get them by completing quests.
