Well I was wondering do you believe in ghost?
Personally I dont. Besides if they do exist what could they possibly do?
Just moan?
If a ghost would moan at me I would say " STFU B4 EYE PRAWN JOO!1!1!1" That maybe a little exhadurated but still whats there to be afraid of?
If you do believe in them why?

Ghost? Just one?

Gah, everytime I hear this it makes me sad, since it represents a gross misunderstanding of what science is. Science isn't chemicals and computers. Science is a method applied to the universe to learn things about it. You come up with a theory, formulate reproducible experiments to test it, and, if these work, you eventually add it to your beliefs. Theories conflicting with new information are thrown out. If ghosts, psychics, whatever existed, they would be "explained by science", as science itself would have to expand to explain why they occur. So far, no need, since there is no actual reproducible evidence that such things exist.

Well argued.

I don't see any reason to believe in them or not to believe in them. Personally I think it would be kind of cool if ghosts existed, but I have no way to prove that they do or do not exist.

That's why he can smell smoke.

I reckon that they do exsist, but i'm not going to go around saying that they do like a tele-evangelist or fanatic. I'll believe in them because I want to, that's all there is to it.

Sure science can explain alot, but isn't the topic here whether or not you believe in ghost's.

A better question would be "What supernatural phenomena don't I believe in."
I spent a large portion of my childhood rather disturbed over government conspiracies and elaborate schemes.
Fact of the matter is science has never disproved the existance of certain supernatural phenomena such as spirits or apparitions. If anything it has done the opposite. We know that there is constant electricity pulseing through our brains. Synaptic function and electricity could possibly be discharged into the air at the moment of death, theoretically.
Really we have no evidence to either prove or disprove the existance of ghostly apparitions, which makes it beyond the realm of science alone at this point, and more a matter of belief.

Perhaps one day such supernatural phenomena will be able to be proven/disproven but with our current scientific capabilities either would be impossible.

Basically, what I'm saying is, although there's no evidence that they do exist, there is also no solid proof that they do not.

Taking a more Freudian position, ghosts and spirits are nothing more then the apparitions that haunt out own thoughts, created from a fear of the unkown and all that is beyond our understanding of the world. A chair moves seemingly on its own and our minds will convince us that such an act could not have been caused by a gust of wind or simply the elements of nature and the force of gravity acting upon the chair, but rather that the only plausible explaination is that it must be something otherworldy.

We have a limited knowdge of how the universe works and because of that limited knowdge we can niether prove nor disprove weither the chair was moved by a gust of wind or the spirits of the dead.
Is this mass hysteria? Like religion, what physical proof is there that such beings exist? Yet regardless of any scientific evidence, niether positive or negative, millions upon millions of people around the world believe in a divine power. Is this mass hysteria? Is more then 90% of the world suffering from a type of self-inflicted delusion?

I think people create within their minds fantasies to comfort them from the unkown, but I do not believe that a majority of people are absolutely insane.

blah. i dont believe in ghosts. ghosts are wandering spirits by simplest of definition. and i believe after you die, you go to heaven or hell. If you dont believe in heaven or hell, its logical to believe that spirits ascend into some sort of beyond the living place. Cause the realm we live in now is reserved for the living, and there are boundaries between realms.

I don't mind if ghosts are partying anywhere near me. As long as they don't make noises by interacting with objects and make my room smell like smoke, I'm fine with it. But it could also be the fact that I have neighbours that smoke.

It would be interesting if ghosts existed, but I don't beleive in em'.

In my beliefs, you die, your body rots in the ground. I would LIKE to think we're reborn, guess I won't know until I die, but man, I can't see that ever happening : o

I'd like to say that I don't believe in ghosts--but only because if it's true that ghosts exist, their existence is very sad. Think about it. To be a ghost is to be trapped in a place where you aren't fully "there," where you exist without living, and I think it must be terrible to exist without living. If ghosts exist, I feel sorry for them; so I hope they don't exist.

That's kinda how I feel. I'm very open to paranormal stuff, and think it's pretty interesting. Anyways, it would kinda suck because ghosts are kinda like imprints of emotion. Ghosts are usually there because they died in anger or sadness, and either relive the experience constantly, or exist in a constant limbo because thet can't let go of their tragedy.

And that's something I'd never want to do, I'd like to be able to move on to whatever the hell there is to move on to. But I still think they exist, and I like watching "Ghost Hunters". They seem very reliable. I saw that British show "Most Haunted" once, and it was so stupid. Basically, just some people screaming and shaking the camera around, never really explaining what the hell happened.

The best way to feel sorry for ghosts is to read "The Christmas Carol." Aside from Scrouge getting broken into three times a night by ghosts and mind raped by them. Atleast that's how I realized being a ghost means wandering the earth in sorrow.

Well a common belife is that a ghost appears if the person died a tragic way (Mostly Children) so yea it is a sad exsistance. Who knows maybe when they move things its just them wanting attention of not being alone. Vivian for me didnt' like a picture so she always knocked it down off that certain spot but with any other picture she didnt mind.

This is a little bit off-topic, but it's a related quote from the preview of next week's "Medium." I found it amusing. ^^

There's no such thing as demons. -Allison DuBois
Says the psychic who talks to ghosts. -Joe DuBois
