It's about special 12 pages G.U. information featured in April issue of MaO magazine (マ)王 ...not sure how to pronounce the name tho). Said to reveal undiscovered secrets about G.U. and staff interviews. Something like that.

Oh, and it has Persona 3 on the cover XD

It's a 12-page special feature in the April issue (don't let that fool you, it's already on stands) of Dengeki Maoh. It has staff comments on the project and "truths that have been kept secret up until now". As usual, Matsuyama put up an excerpt online, and he talks about something that really is kinda weird:

.hack//G.U. has sold over 540,000 games total, counting each volume, but while Rebirth sold 170,000, Reminisce sold 180,000, and Vol.3 sold 190,000. In the original series, Infection sold 250,000, but by Vol.4 it had dropped to 130,000, and this is usually how serial fiction works. He apparently tries to figure out what the heck happened in the main article.

Information revealed:
-The name of Ovan's AIDA is <Tri-Edge>, and the case on his arm to keep it in check was created by Corbenik.
-It's confirmed that Kite was aiming his DD not at Haseo, but at Ovan as he entered the Cathedral.
-Ina met Phyllo, who introduced her to Shino, who she introduced to her brother.
-Ina found Harald's room due to the AIDA corrupting The World, and fell into it kinda like with the glitches in Roots. Since no one else knew how to get there, she and Ovan used it to spend time alone. Since Ovan knew about Harald, and was an investigator for the NAB, he quickly realized what it was.
-The reason Ovan "had no time left" was that Aina, due to her illness, desperately needed a kind of surgery that would be very dangerous to perform if she was in a coma.
-As in G.U.+, Shino is an Innis Epitaph User. She never fully awakened though, and after becoming a Lost One the Morganna Factor detached from her PC and found the next "Chosen One", Atoli.
-It wasn't the Rebirth ability that created Cubia after all. Cubia was created by Harald to oppose the Key of the Twilight (being the sign which leads to truth, I suppose he didn't want anyone to interfere). Before, when the Key was the Bracelet, Cubia opposed it. This time, the Key was Haseo's Xth form, which had absorbed all the Epitaphs. This is why the Core looks like Haseo.

More in a minute...

-As opposed to Aura, whose birth was desired and who was created by a system, AIDA are virtual lifeforms spawned "naturally" from bugs that occured somewhere on the net. AIDA were originally harmless, but after several thousand were born, an aggressive mutant appeared, and this one attacked Ovan. AIDA are all connected, so the malice of this one, known as Tri-Edge, spread to the rest of them. People PKed by AIDA form an "AIDA tumor" responsible for their coma (I know it's dumb, don't shoot the messenger), but since AIDA are connected, the tumors disappeared once the AIDA did.
-The OVA will have at least some part having something to do with Ovan and the AIDA.
-Sleeping Aura brought the Azure Knights to life to fight the AIDA, from her memories of the great heroes. She didn't have time to fully complete their forms, and that's why they look weird. She sent them after Tri-Edge.

Knew this part. Liek lol.
-As in G.U.+, Shino is an Innis Epitaph User. She never fully awakened though, and after becoming a Lost One the Morganna Factor detached from her PC and found the next "Chosen One", Atoli.
Hmm. How come <Tri-Edge> didn't Comatose Pi and Atoli then? Ah well. Atleast this explains why Ovan recruited Shino.

So Cubia was the Anti-Existence to Xth Form? That's....pretty damn annoying. The "LOL HARALD'Z INVENTION" also pisses me off. So like, did he make it to make sure no one screwed around with the Key, then?

Well, that's an acceptable origin, then. The AIDA tumor thing IS dumb, but I'm gonna assume it's either a metaphor for a psychological thing, or it's a wierd mind over matter thing.

-Sleeping Aura brought the Azure Knights to life to fight the AIDA, from her memories of the great heroes. She didn't have time to fully complete their forms, and that's why they look weird. She sent them after Tri-Edge.
Knew those ones. I'm glad for the Shino and AIDA info, though the Tumor and the Intentional creation of Cubia make me mad.

Edit (Kuukai) : OMFG Spoiler tag your post. Rebirth asked a legitimate, spoiler-free question, so I don't want to make this into a spoiler thread. We should probably move discussion of the material to another thread.

Probably because Innis wasn't awakened enough to protect her. Skeith was "already awakened" according to Yata by the time he met Haseo.

No, he made it to make sure no one used the Key. The Key, being a guide to truth, whatever form it takes, would lead people to what he was doing and let them mess with it (lol paranoia). That's my interpetation of why he made an anti-existence to the Key of the Twilight, at least.

Absaloutely awesome find. I must say after forking out 50 euros per game I wish they actually put these HUGELY IMPORTANT story points in them. The first four games had this sortve thing as well though at least im notpaying as much this time.

Wow thats alot of nice info.

It seems Azure Kite is even dumber than I give him credit for, he cant even fix his own line-of-sight issues. :P Makes me wonder what happend after that though..Ovan probably kicked his ass like he usually does.

I willing to believe the Cubia explanation, though I find it dissapointing.

The AIDA tumor thing is a pretty awful explanation though.

Yea, Kuukai and I have pretty much decided to take the "Tumor" thing as "AIDA going into your head mentally. :D"

On the whole  Harold creating Cubia thing. I always assumed that since the first games for 2 inaccurate reasons. To preserve the key of the twilight in whatever form it may be. The second and even stupider reason being both Harold and Cubia have crappy "hair." :D

This is really interesting. Hope we can get the full scoop sometime soon.

LAWL! Data Drain misfire. Wow so that totally means Haseo, having been summoned to the cathedral by Ovan....should have ducked when he saw data drain XD!!!

That totally sucks. Haseo got ripped off. If he hadn't gone to the cathedral or if he had managed to get away, he would have still been level 133 flicker Haseo.  I'd always thought Kite DD'd Haseo b/c of his irregular obtaining of 3rd form but I guess that's out the window.

No, that cant be right. I smell a coverup. The Tri-Edge Scandal.
Is Kite really a retard....or is he just blind? News @ 11.

That pretty much is everything. I didn't really distiguish, but after posting the blurb Matsuyama put up, I summarized pretty much everything worth noting in the article. If Matsuyama put all these things on his blog, chaos.

Kite's like KOS-MOS. Logically his best shot was  straight through Haseo. Either that or the hair over his eye just covered him up.
