As 1? Yeah all three games will be full price each. Hence why it's a great business move to bring it over here. Because even though it has below average sales people who buy it spend 3 times the money on it so they get more profit than a game like this would usually be.

First: Its not up to sony whether or not the next two games come out. Its up to bandai Namco. And if anyones paid attention over the past 6 years. Bandai hasnt been making the best movies.
Second: Because the games are already done by the time we get the previous one, most fans don't expect long release dates or at least annoucement dates.
-Not to mention that the previous four games only took one month before the annourcement of the next title, which is another reasons fans are worried.
Thats why we are worried about whether or not the other games will be released. Also I reccently saw a gaming magazine that bashed GU, so not everyone wants it to succeed.

Jeebus, just look at the official site. They wouldn't be giving away thousands worth of dollars of free stuff in a publicity stunt if they weren't selling anything anymore...
Jimbob wrote:That and most anime games are crap in my opinion only made purely for fan's of a series to enjoy and offering little for other people.
I pretty much agree, the difference is that for .hack the anime is based on the game, not the other way around. In fact, one could criticize SIGN saying it's almost impossible to understand what's going on unless you're a fan of the games...
Anime games in general can be ripoff-y, but when they have an original scene or character or something... Otakus rank A and above (including myself) can't resist the dang things... Some people do crack, I have a Sega Saturn...
Without Knowledge wrote:Personally, I'm starting to fear it's because it's a PS2 game. Sony hasn't seemed to be making very good decisions lately, and I could just see them cutting back big time on the PS2 game imports in favor of the few PS3 ones coming out.
PS2 games will be coming out for a while still, last time I checked it was still the most popular platform... Remember the PS1?

By Full price do u mean 49.99? Cause if thats what you're talking about then GU is not a full priced game since i got mine for 40

So did I, but did you get the Terminal Disk with it? That could have been the difference.

Hmm, I suppose you're right. I was a Nintendo-only girl up until five years ago, so I wasn't aware of how the PSOne - PS2 transition was. Well then, I'll try to keep patient, at least until the end of the year.

Um one of the threads in Volume 2 section had somebody who emailed Yuri(his VA) asking about vol.2. He gave a vague reply but the next day said that the director allowed him to tell us the yes they are indeed recording vol. 2 right now. This was a while ago so they could even be done by now.

Yeah its very possible since it they'd be able to mock up all of the lines of each character between one and three days. And since its been tw or three weeks we can assume that they are almost done if not done by now. That also means if they've started the vioce work that the translating is done

Thats what ussually takes the longest.

It was mail to his offical webisite that he personally repiled to. Unless the guy was lying about emailing him, somebody is inpersonating the VA down to making a fake website about it then yes I'm positive it wasn't a hoax. It was the Vol. 2 release date thread. Go look for yourself if you want.

Actually the reason why games based on animes normally suck is because they try to base the game ON the anime's timeline as well, why the hell play a game you won't feel anticipated for? I mean you're already gonna know what's gonna happen, so you want to get the game so you could have 1/10th of that story as well as other thing?
.hack series has a slight problem not really though, they keep going on and on with originality and stuff, but my problem with the .hack is the ammount they want to put in your head, it's like
Watch the shows, read the mangas, and play the games. However I believe the smartest move they made is G.U cause it's like what they're saying is
"Hey, let's not leave everyone out of it, let's start an entire new series of .hack that way newcomers can come as well as returning fans. Of course there'll be some references from the first game however they won't make a huge impact on this new saga" I applaud them for that, that's for sure. Cause I admit .hack sign lost me, and the games.
Infact all of the .hack series of animes you don't need to know the story for, unless you're more interested in the backstory as well.
Transition from Sign to Infection as far as I know isn't that big, I mean you get to meet Skeith again, yeah and you meet Orca and Balmung which could feel like new characters or returning characters, they are both treated exactly the same.
Like Legend of the Twilight Anime, you can either go "Hey look he won a contest from the Hero that stopped the Epitaph Wave, Kite! Yay!"
Or you can go "A character traveled down from some hero" or "A special character award, that's cool."
So as far as I know there's a faint link that you don't need to follow for the anime, the only one I see now is .hack GU, and .hack roots. Cause as far as I see in .hack GU it does start off a bit more sudden then normally, like the 3 month gap would probaby have people going wtf, who's Ovan? What's the Twilight Brigade, who's Shino? Shino's Haseo's girlfriend? Ect ect. However when you watch the anime you'll understand the game more.

If you played the games and watched .hack sign and you're lost, it's not because you're missing a part of the story. Your comprehension just feel a bit short.

The game Haseo's history is supposed to be vague. Not just to encourage you to watch Roots, but to reveal it in flashbacks and have you realize why Haseo acts like he does. It's like a freudian psychoanalysis with a dash of Evangelion Juice.

What I said came out wrong XD I meant like, I understood the game completly, however the anime slightly lost me, possibly because the first episode of it felt nothing like how first episodes of animes normally start, and I didn't even know the time of the episodes then. The game was pretty easy to understand however.

When I first watched Sign I was completely lost. But now that I played the games and know the spoilers, I now understand Sign. So the anime are pretty much promoting the games.

Back on topic....
I´m very intrigue about this:
Saku: This was made to be done with 2 people only!
what are those 2 people??
Bo: Didn't we say this exact thing once ago?
when was that moment??
