.hack//GU Volume 2 is expected to be out by next week, early as Monday (eta Janurary 26th). However, .hack//GU Volume 1 is fully translated and readily available here at dothackers.net courtesy of thewafflehouse. When volume 2 finally gets released, expect to hear about it on the main page and/or here in the foras. Please refrain from asking numberous times and take the time to look around before repeatedly asking. When it does come out, someone will eventually announce it. In the mean time, donations are still needed in order for dothackers to purchace one and freely post it to the public.
Updated: January 16th
Goal: $30.00
Donations:
$10.00 - Seth
$10.00 - Brian

$18.82 so far minus pay pal fees. January 26th is getting closer. Donate if possible.
If at all possible they accept any donations, few spare change would eventually add up. Anyways, also be reminded once it does come out next week, it will take time for someone to scan all pages, upload them to the net, and make a post pertaining to it. It will take even longer than that for someone to take the scans and traslate them, then for someone else to use their image editor and remove the Japanese text and insert English text as what thewafflehouse has done for Volume 1. Therefore I don't expect anything to be readily available until the first week of Feb.

Morganna is dead...so wouldn't that be an impossible theory?

There's speculation of the black box and over the fact CC Corp caught on fire and theres a chance they rebuilt the new World based on a backup. So its not entirely "impossible".

I don't have any major information from #2 yet, but here are a few tidbits gathered from the Japanese GU BBS:

TriEdge's class is apparently Twin Sword

The one time Water Capital is now "The Eternal Ancient City, Mac Anu"

When a player joins a guild, additional "guild shops" are open to them.

Couldn't we closely examine that and assume it means Twinblade?

The two class names are similar, but not identical. The one used in the post I got that from was the new one, and I assume that it was included in the post because an official source has finally referred to TriEdge as one of the known classes.

In katakana it's "Twin Sword", but the kanji itself is the same as the one for Twin Blade back in the .hack games, and the Famitsu scan has it as "T-Blade" in English. I'll be wondering which one they want to go with...

On that note, I think I screwed up in the manga re: Haseo going "Triple-edged twin blades,", but maybe I'm not wrong about that. He did seem to be referring to just the blades being triple-edged, rather than Tri-Edge as a Twin Blade altogether. Then again I could be wrong.

The difference in the kanji is between 双剣使い and 双剣士.
[edit]On double-checking, both seem to be used for the old Twin Blade class; only the latter has so far been used for Twin Sword. Looks like you're right, and this may not be of as much significance as I'd thought.

When you're not directly referring to the class, the difference between "blades" and "swords" is mostly a stylistic choice. For that one, I translated it as "triple-bladed twin swords".

Well if you don't I might try to scan it (and people will just have to deal with crapy scans) and have someone on here translate it. Either way looking forward to you're translation of .hack//GU+.

No, that's up to the scanlation group.

Indeed. d5t is not wholly responsible for the content that appears in the scanlation of the manga.

I got my copy of Volume 2 today, and here are a few bits of new information, gathered primarily from Chapter 2 of G.U.+:

-Pai and Yata are system administrators working for CC Corp.
-They refer to TriEdge as "Kite of the Azure Flame" (yes, that looks like a direct parallel to Balmung and Orca's names).
-The speculation about TriEdge being (an) AIDA is correct, not that that's saying much.
-AIDA is a general term for any phenomenon or object in The World which violates the rules of the system and should not exist.
-It seems that Haseo is now playing the game while unconscious, and he isn't the first.
-Sakubo was a previous victim of TriEdge.
-The Twilight Brigade was, at one point, searching for the Key of the Twilight.
-At the end of the chapter, Yata says to Haseo: "Welcome to G.U.". This is at the location that we suspect to be the Gate of Uroboros.

More information and translations coming soon. Tonight is G.U.+, the rest will come as I get to it.

P.S. velocity7, I am working on Chapter 1 of GnU. It's more absurd than G.U.+, and correspondingly more difficult to translate. I hope to be done before the end of the week.

[edited 2/2: Fixed critical error. Yata, not Ovan, is an administrator]

Most of the complications are near the beginning. I have the last half mostly finished.

And now, here's the information for today. I start with a few questions and answers gathered (but not directly translated) from Piroshi & Natsume's Q&A page:

1: Is TriEdge Kite?
No clear answer given.

2: Will Elk, Mia, Balmung, etc appear in the new games?
No clear answer given.

3: Will there be puchigusos (grunties) in the new games?
Yes, but they've changed quite a bit, and are now known as grunties. (That is, the new Japanese name for them matches the old translated name. We do not yet know what the new translated name will be.)

4: Haseo's Multiweapon class can use all sorts of weapons. Wouldn't that make them the strongest?
In exchange for the increased variety of weapons, Multiweapons have a lower level cap to preserve game balance. However, there are indications that Haseo may be an exception to this.

5: (Until (unless?) there's a clear answer, I won't be able to translate the question with any confidence. It's asking about what the "チャップ・チョップ Incident" was.)
No clear answer, other than that in it, Piroshi faced death, and something happened to him. On a possibly related note, they're still asking for submissions regarding what Piroshi's new character design should look like.

And, from .hack//CELL, I bring you the name of the new Omega Server root town:
In Japanese: ルミナ・クロス
Direct transliteration: Rumina Kurosu
Probable translation: Lumina Cross (subject to change if I come up with something better)

Also, please note that I have fixed a critical error in my previous post. Ovan is not an administrator. Yata is.

I knew Yata was an administrator, and I was a bit curious about Ovans arm and him being an administrator without suspicion catching on. Thanks for clearing that up. =)

Also, a new omega server, sweet~ Hopefully it will look like the one you didn't get to see in .hack//Quarantine with the trees and such.
