Yarp, totally is.

They are goals, achievements, trophies. Whats the point of having them if you didn't actually earn them? I can understand doing a certain game type, map, or character class to aim for achievements, but if you mean straight up setting them up.. I just don't see the point.

"Hey I got this bowling trophy!"
"Awesome, how good are you at bowling?"
"Oh I suck, my friends helped me walk to the end of the lane and we just pushed them over!"

It's not like that at all. You're referring to "boosting" as if, instead of doing hard things on our own, we depend on others and make others get them for us because we aren't "good enough" to get them on our own. But that's not how boosting works at all...at least, it's not the way OUR boosting works.

The trophies we're trying to achieve through boosting involve a PERFECT team work. Let's take Role Model, for example...to achieve that trophy, a team must perform all Team action bonuses in one single session...and in a normal playthrough, no team will EVER achieve that without any prior organization. Yes, you can do it if you have 3 people under your control and against 4 people who you don't know and can't talk to...but, you need to be well-communicated with your people, tell them what they need to do, tell them they need to stay somewhere ready, etc; you can't just avoid any communication and hope to get the trophy because everyone will rush to their targets without looking back at the other...or hide somewhere far from everyone else and use abilities whenever they shouldn't. And in my case, for example, i don't have a mic, or even the proper voice to interact with my team correctly, so i can't hope to make a random team and work with them. Same deal with Abstergo Employee of the Month...15 different actions in one session is INSANE, you need to do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE, and for that you need the help of both allies and enemies...and they of course won't let you do it since they want to win, not help you achieve bonuses.

And also, it's not like we "get online at once, make a private game, instant trophy for us all"...we still need to WORK for them, and trust me, it's HARD by itself even when you already have all the people with full communication and working at once. 8 min are barely enough to achieve 15 bonuses...and, as some of the players in here have proven already, if you don't have proper knowledge and preparation beforehand, you aren't going to achieve the bonuses or the trophies, no matter how much help everyone else gives you (sorry, but it's true D: ). We spent HOURS working for them...and only Keyaki and me obtained the Role Model trophy, and only zerokoolpsx and me obtained the Extreme Variety bonus. We just make the setup, reducing the luck factor to achieve the trophies to a minimum...the rest depends entirely on player skill and organization, which is something we can't simply "boost and achieve perfectly everytime". Instead of simply "walking to the end of the lane and pushing the ball"...we "get enough people for the trophy game, and give advantage to the other"...but if that one player is a total n00b at bowling, he won't get the trophy no matter how much advantage we give him; he still has to earn it on his own, after all. We HELP each other, we don't JUST give and earn the trophies just like that.

That's what boosting us..that's what we're doing here. We still work for the trophies and rightfully earn them, we simply make it so that it's only us who work for them, and we don't get idiots all over ruining them for us. After all, it's not like we're boosting each other to get to lv50, or even to finish the main game...each one of us still has to work for that, and if zerokoolpsx is lv50 right now, it's not because all of us let us be killed by him...he worked on it on his own and achieved it with his own skills. Most of the online trophies are trophies we've achieved on our own as well (Job Skills, Ahead of the Curve, etc)...we're still working hard for our own Platinums, just simply making the "impossible trophies" into "possible but still hard and still skill-dependant". We help each other and might share some tips or a few secrets...but it doesn't mean either we're going to grab the others' games and finish them on our own while they get the rewards. Nothing like that.

And the same applies for all other games which involve trophy boosting. In Black Ops, for example, you WILL NEVER achieve the zombie trophies unless you do it by boosting, and even so, it's FREAKING HARD. Why? Because even if you have 2 or 3 friends working perfectly together, doing what they need to do and not being idiots and going somewhere else to doom themselves and everyone, you can't control the way zombies attack, you can't control their spawning, and you can't even control the Mystery Box items...all you can control is that your teammates aren't a bunch of idiots or deafs, and you all work well enough to minimize the luck required. And yes, i still call such help as "boosting", because you're still working together to specifically achieve the trophies, and i repeat, WORKING TOGETHER, not simply pressing a button all over or not doing anything to magically get them. And don't even let me started on the Red Dead Redemption trophies...as one trophy simply involves having EIGHT people in your team ("posse") at once, and another to achieve maximum score with such people. And first of all, a Free Roam session rarely gets more than 6 people. Second, lots of players aren't going to join you, some leave to do other things, some just ignore you, and some others want to start their own posse. And finally...you aren't going to organize 7 strangers online, especially NOT without a mic, and there will ALWAYS be the idiot that kills others, and the fools who spend all the time killing the "killer", starting a war in your own posse without being able to stop it, unless you kick the players, but then you won't have enough people for the trophy. So...try to achieve that trophy without boosting and without mic...it's simply not going to happen.

Sure, i won't deny there are people who get help in EVERY DETAIL involving the trophies, so much they don't even play the game at all...but, you can be sure that such thing doesn't apply for us. After all, even if we're boosting trophies this way, we're still very skilled at the game and there are so much things we can get and have gotten on our own. We're not babies who need to be held by the hand to the way the trophy is...we're skilled players who simply don't want idiots shove us away from the path to the trophy.

Whoa horsey. I said "if you mean straight up setting up". Every time I've ever heard of boosting it is always "Stand still so I can kill you 10 times in a row". What you are doing isn't boosting, least not what I've ever heard of it, its playing the game with a goal in mind.

Skipping over the little speed bump in this thread, I found out two other things in the single player portion of the game :)

You can go close combat with the crossbow! He just kind of ducks out the way and shoots the enemy point blank XD Or uses it as a club!

Second nugget I found is about that "heavy weapon" sheath, while I have the sheath and bought the first 2 hand axe from the shop, I chucked the Axe at a group of guards who had one of the big armoured sword wielding maniacs with them. After I erm ... made them roll over and play dead ... I picked up the 2 hand sword and yes it is my main weapon now! Although if I lose it the only way to get it again is the same steps as above as it doesn't appear in my armoury, quite understandably!

So it is a sneaky way to get a new weapon without paying for it in game!

I'd have to back Sorrow up on the way we are achieving the trophies. I did not read about all the different kill types and wasted the time of both Sorrow and Zero working towards one of the goals. I can tell you now though in that 8 minutes trying to get all the varieties that the game throws at you is no easy feat, even when we we're collaboratively working towards this goal we had to be lightning fast to pull it off!!

Gamers who get this amongst random players on the net must be incredibly rare, not impossible, but just rare! Working our way up to level 50 has indeed been the work of our own skills and abilities and even that is not easy in itself we have our own methods and play styles and since even if we have each other added as friends in the game network, we don't use mic's we don't know each other's style of game play we are still working towards a common goal, but the difference is we get to chat about it on here too!

I can understand what you mean though Tolby on initial read and without knowing the game it would most likely appear that way, I use to play warcraft and there we're so many "boosters" on games like that and my brother happens to be part of a CS clan and one of his team mates is one of the Top Quake players in UK and so between us we have seen so many variations of boosters and it is most common now for warcraft or the cod series of games since they have quite high trophy goals that involve "XX" amount of such and such kills etc!

I can tell you now Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is quite a different kettle of fish altogether, it breaks away from the usual multi player rules we know about. While we still get little kids charging around with their underpants on their head screaming down the microphone when they get a "kill", this game rewards players such as Sorrow, Zero and myself who actually think dynamically and try and achieve a subtle kill of the target while avoiding others, it is a game of cat and mouse and those who are silent and unseen get more rewards!

I could just stand there for Sorrow to kill me over and over, but it achieves nothing for us at all in this game!! The whole purpose is diversity and team play which works in part, while not perfect it is different, but nice and annoying too ;)

You should try it and see for yourself :)

You insulted my current gaming and referred to us like we were babies who needed mommy's help to simply play the game correctly, of course i wasn't going to remain quiet about it -3-
In a way, it is still boosting, as in a crude way, we do play so that "you stand there so i can kill you"...however, we have to do FAR more than just "kill the other repeatedly while he doesn't move". Coordinated jump/shoot, climb to the exact location, get to the exact blending spot and be knocked down at the same time...it sure as hell requires the planned strategy, not just spend the whole 8 minutes doing the very same kill over and over to "boost ranking" or whatever. We could do it for such purposes...but it's not needed, not any entertaining either, and it's much better to boost such rankings by properly playing the game, together in the same team in any case, but actually playing and not boosting up this way.
And i won't deny that there are players who indeed do such kind of boosting, i don't exactly hate them either...after all, actual online competition and display will always prove far more than a mere trophy list. And i won't deny that, if a game trophy asks me for something like "Kill 100 people with the same crappy gun" and i have a friend who plays that same game, i'll probably boost it because i won't feel interested enough in doing such tedious challenge in the "hard way", especially if i can do it in 5 minutes and forget about it and play seriously aftewards. However, for the most part, i will try to get them on my own, and won't stick to "pure boosting" unless the trophies are plain RIDICULOUS, or i FORCEFULLY need friends to achieve them...such case which applies for these Brotherhood online trophies. And Brotherhood is the very first game in which i've done such kind of boosting...so if you doubt my skill or motivation to get trophies on my own, then just check all of my Red Dead Redemption trophies. About 80% finished, and with NO BOOSTING at all. Have to say that a good part were obtained by sheer luck and either being teamed with uber-experts, or put against pure n00bs who take seconds to aim before shooting, but yeah.

And thanks for your input, Exiousa!! :D I completely agree with what you said, and yeah. AC: Brotherhood multiplayer is completely different to other multiplayer styles, in that being creative, silent and dynamic is much more rewarding than just running around and killing your target after a 2 min. chase, or doing the same kind of kill over and over. I still dislike the overall slow pace...but, abilities such like Poison and Decoy have made it very entertained to me even if i spent all the time hidden within a blending group XD
And good finding about the Crossbow and the Heavy Sword!! :3 I have mistakenly used the Crossbow as melee before, but usually during a counter...trying to put an arrow in someone's ass but blowing up my cover and having to attack before changing weapons. It was fun though. lol

And BTW...Sorry if i'm not able to help you guys much from now on...just 2 days of school so far i can already tell that these 4 months will be very deadly and time-consuming. All afternoons since 4 or 6PM spent in school, and all mornings spent in dying from projects or eating whole books using my eyes. Normally, i'll try to be online since about 11AM/12PM my time, until 3 or 4PM, and at least for this week and maybe the next i'll get online everyday (not much work to do yet)...but after that, my online times will be very erratic, and i won't know if i'll get online or not until perhaps minutes before i do, so yeah. We can work on the rest of the trophies during this week if you all get online at such times...but yeah, with the limited time i'm going to have, i strongly recommend that we put aside the sillyness and random stunning for a bit and directly work on the trophies/bonuses, and with proper preparation before beginning XD lol

No. I was saying it was dumb, if you do it like everyone else. You then explained you don't do it that way. However, in that wall text you said you would indeed do it that way. In which you are acting like a child. If you need an award that you don't deserve that badly. Achievements and Trophies are used to give players something to strive for, or to show skill. If you don't to use a crappy gun, don't use it. You wont die if you don't get an award that you didn't earn. Whats the point of having them if you didn't actually earn them? It defeats the point of them. Only way I would not think negatively about someone who boosts that way is if they had like ocd and had to have 100% on all games. On my favorite game I have 975 points. Only missing one achievement. I've earned all the others, but for 4 years I could not get this last achievement. And I probably never will, but the vets respect people like me far more than 1000 score people because you could bet your life that anyone with 1000 points boosted.

(The last achievement is God mode on an unpopular FPS. You have to be in a game of at least 6v6. You have to completely kill the entire team on your own, while taking no damage. If you take any damage, or you team mates even get one damage on enemies you don't get it. Meaning even if you are good enough to kill the other team you team will probably get at least one shot in, unless they stay back which is borderline boosting as well.) And the game is fast paced, its not like you cant just snipe or camp like Halo or CoD or something.)

So, if someone simply wants to get an achievement or a trophy through an easy way, especially one that doesn't even show skill and only shows they had alot of free time or a good amount of friends to work with it, it means "acting childish" and "being an unrespectful player"? Sounds to me like you're such a harsh judge on how good or bad people are, or how mature/immature they are, simply for the amount of trophies they earn or don't earn. For me, trophies are something to work for (boosted or not, you have to admit that alot of work and coordination is required...don't know about your game, but in the games i've played, such boosting isn't as simple as inviting people and shooting once or never), something to do with the games after i've completed fully, and something i'm quite proud of getting because i sure worked hard to get them all, with or without help. I'm not "obsessed" with getting them, there are several games in which i haven't gotten them, like the Dragon Ball games which ask for ridiculous stuff as well (which i could boost but i don't feel like it), and i know i'm not going to die if i don't get them at 100%, but of course i'm not going to die or become the worst gamer ever if i simply asked a friend to help me achieve a certain bonus i haven't been able to get through normal means. In some cases, i find it even unfair that, even if someone could be the VERY best in a game both in single player and multiplayer, they don't achieve 100% in the game simply for a trophy that depends more on luck or friends than skill; sure, it's their entire decision if they want to boost it or not, but i won't look down on him one bit if he decides to boost just that one time, nor i would look at him as an "unskilled" one if he remains with 98% forever. Instead, if his gaming style is all cheap and he only does something over and over, perhaps i won't look at him as a good gamer, but that's independant of the trophies they've gotten. After all, no matter how much a player boosts, if they're bad at the games themselves, they won't have anymore trophies or points than those who do play the games and finish them; no player will be able to finish CoD in Veteran if all they've done is boosting online.

For you, it's basicly "boosting bad, you don't earn them, you don't deserve them, blahblahblah"...however i think very differently on that, and i won't stop respecting people just because they got two or trophies trophies with the help of others. In fact, i'd say i'm much more unrespectful to those players who constantly keep bothering others about the trophies they've gotten, boosted or not; that's no different from trolling and hating on others. But as they say, haters gonna hate :/ And of course, one thing is simply stating an opinion, and another is to directly attack with something like "I DON'T RESPECT YOU YOU'RE NO GAMER BYE". Again, really shows that the people who make comments about such kind, care more about the trophies and give them much more "importance" than the actual people with a high amount of them.

Again. You completely misunderstood and then take my opinion and greatly exaggerate it. I don't care if you need friends for help, I already said that. All I care about is when someone stands still so their friend can kill them with a gun 100 times to get the "kill with a pistol 100 times" award. You said that's not what you do. But then you said you would do that if there was an achievement like that, because it would be boring. If its boring. DON'T GET IT. I don't care how many trophies you have, or don't have. If you are boosting in the way I describe then you are the one who puts too much stock in trophies, not me. I don't look at your skilled based on trophies. I'm saying that is the point of a trophy and people who boost THE WAY I DESCRIBED defeat the purpose of trophies. If you didn't do it based on your ability then you don't deserve the trophy, simple as that. Its a trophy. I don't care if you need help learning to do it, or you need friends to help you achieve it, as long as you don't do something as cheap as the way I described. Even if you do, I don't care, it just doesn't make any sense because it defeats the whole purpose.

I have it! It's the first AC game I owned (I borrowed all the previous ones ) I lol everytime I have to say to my friends "So I was assassinating this one guy, the guards were on my trail. But it was all good, I hid in a group of whores and made my escape."
I'm at the point where Bartolomeo asks to help defend from the frenchmen and close the gates and having the worst time getting past it! As soon as I try to get the wheel turning they attack me and more flood in! And the worst part, to me, is I accidentally pressed the "call assassins" too and I lost all the ones it took me so long to recruit and train. :(

Whatever you say in referrence to "boosters" or whatever, i can't help but think you say it all against me and the way i've been playing and getting trophies on my own, which makes me go all "OH HELL NO". Sorry for my overreactions, but i get way too defensive here X_X
Most of your comments aren't actually referred to me or the way i play...but still, i don't agree with your opinion of "it defeats the whole purpose", for the single reason that such "boosted trophies" still require alot of work, alot of coordination and not just a cheap tactic over and over. Yes, if you do that with CERTAIN trophies it DOES defeat the purpose, and it isn't even entertained anymore...but it doesn't mean either that ALL boosting has to be like that. Also, just because a trophy is boring, it doesn't mean i'm not going to get it; just because a part of a game is boring, it doesn't mean i'm going to stop playing the game altogether. But that's just me, and it's not because i put much importance or will die if i don't get it...it's just because i think i'm capable enough to get it and want to work to get it, with or without friends, and regardless of how tedious it might be :/ If anything, those trophies will be more rewarding when i get them, and i'll feel much more satisfied than getting the trophies which are all "walk to that place YAY TROPHY". And the example i gave before was more referred to "getting trophies through cheap boosting doesn't equal to being an awful or unrespected gamer", than "if i can't get a trophy or is too boring i'll always boost it in the cheapest way possible". If such a trophy exists, maybe i'll get it on my own...but if i cheap-boost it it doesn't mean i suck either, i'm an immature kid, i can't get anything on my own, i should stop playing forever or anything like that. That's my opinion.

The funniest part about that little phrase, is that it's actually true!! XD
And that part with Bartolomeo is actually fun ;P Helps you train kill streaks ALOT, and it's one of the few times in the game in which you can enjoy having endless waves of enemies at once...and yes such times are fun. I also called the Assassins on that mission...but none of them died, and they were only about lv6 at most. I've never lost an Assassin, in fact D: But, you can always train new recruits and very quickly. My best recommendation for that is to have some high-level Assassins (hopefully at least one of yours survived), and send them on a high-EXP mission, along with some low-level ones, possibly getting around 200EXP for each, up to 1000EXP if you have some very high-level ones. If not, then try to get as much Assassins as possible in the highest difficult they can possibly survive with high chance. For example, i think you can send 3 lv2 Assassins on a 3-difficulty mission, with success chances over 80%.
And as of tips for that Bartolomeo mission:
-SMOKE BOMBS. USE THEM. They're so very useful, and completely necessary to achieve 100% Sync on this mission (You have to receive no damage for Full Sync...that or not lose health, same thing anyhow). Go to the gate lever thing, throw bomb, close the gate ASAP, kill anyone if you have to (mainly those who are bound to attack you and you must counter them), move to next door, repeat.
-Focus on the gates, rather than the enemies. Each time a number of enemies are killed, about 6 to 8 enemies will spawn right by the doors as long as they remain open, endlessly coming until you close the doors. So, unless you want to have fun and see if you can get a 80 kill streak, you should stay away from the enemies, not engage in battle unless they've already done so, and keep them away from you as you close the doors.
-Call Assassins for more distraction. Based on the above, you need to have enemies distracted on others as much as possible...and yeah, i know you aren't any "eager" to do this anymore, perhaps not even able to do it now...but if possible, trust in your Assassins to kill and distract at least 2-3 soldiers. And don't worry much...even at lv1, your Assassins should endure for more than a minute against the ENTIRE "army"...which is perfectly enough time to close all gates, and leaving you free to support your Assassins against the remaining soldiers. If the last ones died, i'm sure it was because you spent more than 5 minutes trying to fight them off without closing more than 1 gate .-. So, use them wisely and only to assure that you're going to have a gate closed right after you call them.

Basicly...close the gates first (and do everything you have to do to assure you can close them), fight enemies later, and you'll be all fine and your Assassins shall live!! :3

You made me laugh Cirillo, it is one of those scenarios you try and tell your friends something funny from a game situation and they just look at you like you have just come back from drug rehab!!

All good fun though :)

Ah that mission with the gates, you know I did not even think to use my gear or assassin's!! I sometimes get so wrapped up into doing things one way I literally got my 100% sync just with my dagger and killing streaks, the guards have about a five to 8 second delay before more reinforcements come along and you can get the gates closed with just pure fighting and no smoke bombs or assassin's with 100% sync! It took me 3 attempts for the 100% sync though, not an easy feat at all, but a very fun mission!

You should try out the crossbow in close combat it can be amusing ;)

Thinking back on my first play through I did the same thing on that Copernicus first mission too!! Just pure fighting and nothing else!! I am such a plonker sometimes, a quick smoke bomb or other things to help would have made it so much easier XD

I'm a trophy/achievement whore if I still had my 360. I do it for the games I enjoy. I help two people platinum ACB two nights ago with extreme variety so if you guys are ever on now, we can do role model and triple escape! *nudge nudge* I scratch their back, they scratch my back. Plus it's a good way of meeting new friends.

Words of truth.

I've been unable to get online today, and probably will only get on a hour before leaving to class (that is, 2 hours from now on)...been updating my computer and installing everything that's needed and pretty much modifying it and turning it into MY computer (and it DEFINETLY looks like mine now XD), so yeah. However, i have now a new interesting program installed (already had it on my old computer, but didn't use it much...not enough "power" for it), called "Raptr". In general, Raptr is some sort of gaming social network thing, you keep track of achievements and friends and what they play and blahblah, don't want to sound like an advertising spambot . And the Raptr client allows me to "sync" my entire PSN account to it...and with it, i can see my current online friends on the PSN and what they're playing, just by running the Raptr client.

So, in other words, even if i'm not online on the PSN, i can see all of my friends who are or aren't online, and therefore i can keep track of you all and notice when at least 2 Brotherhood players get online (right now only zero is on...and 2 random friends) so i can get online myself and immediatly work on trophies and stuff. So, don't worry if you don't see me online, you get on and play whatever you want and such...if enough people get online, i'll let you know, even if i'm very busy i think i can at least turn on the PS3 and do a stun or a chase every once XD Also, i recommend you all to add each of us to your Friends List, if you haven't done so yet. So far i've been doing all the organization myself, however i'll be completely unable to get online at night, and players like Keyaki and Kaori have much greater chances of being online by then, so you could work at least on Extreme Variety even if i'm not online.

And i got Download Complete yesterday, so i am too ONLY missing the Triple Escape for that Platinum!!! 8D I'd say i can almost taste it too...however, i can't. Because i'm almost the same way in other THREE games (Dead Rising 2, Red Dead Redemption, Black Ops)...only missing INSIGNIFICANT things, like simply playing missions with a friend or having 8 people in my team, and yet, just for those MINOR things, the Platinum has eluded me and will remain away until i have enough trustworthy (and for some, skilled) friends to help me. Won't claim victory until i hear the respective dinging sound and see the corresponding blue-ish trophy image.

And i've indeed kept track of the activeness of all my PSN friends...but, no luck so far D: Only you've been online zero, and nearly for all the time in which i'm awake. Exiousa only got online once that i could see...while i was playing a Manhunt game...and he got offline before the match was over XP Haven't seen Keyaki online, and Kaori only gets on at insanely early/late hours for me, like between 3-7AM. Why America and Asia must be so far from each other ._.
And some random kid added me once during the week, after we played several Manhunt games in the same team, usually ending with a victory (and usually with me on the top scores *is awesome* lol). Not sure if i should ask him for the help or not though...he kinda doesn't seem like the kind who'd accept to do such help >->; But still, even if he does, we'd need one more person.

Sorry about the inactivity Sorrow, my PSN keeps dropping at the moment non too sure why either! I have RDR myself as well, so aside from ACB if you needed an extra gun always ready to lend a hand, don't think I'll strive the for trophies on RDR as I enjoy the Assassin's Creed stuff more :) I dislike the herding cattle stuff on RDR!

Although I really like the Undead nightmare XD

Let me know when you guys want to arrange a time and we can get your platinum ;) I will hazard a guess we need a minimum of 4 for a triple escape :p

Your PSN connection is mean, give it food or something so it stops being so mean with you ;(
And i freaking love RDR overall, both the normal gameplay and Undead Nightmare. And thanks alot for your help...however, for the only trophy i'm missing for Platinum, i need EIGHT people...not minimum or maximum, just 8 players total in my team .-. Of course, if you ever feel like it, we could still play and mess around, perhaps help you with some trophies, or just kill random people together. And since i'm lv50 in Brotherhood already, i think i'll go back at playing RDR and Black Ops most of the time...i've already said in posts before why i've never been a great fan of the Brotherhood multiplayer, even if i tend to be great at it.
Anyways o3o

Remember the last time we played and worked on Extreme Variety, in which you got online at about 12/1PM my time? Well, that time is PERFECT for me, and if you could get online tomorrow at that time, that'd be perfect for us all. zero is usually online at that hour too, and this random guy who added me also gets online by then, perhaps a bit later but not much, so with some luck we could have 4 players already by then. If not...then maybe we could help you (Exiousa) in getting Extreme Variety, or we could just mess around in some Player Matches or whatever xD lol

I'll check my port settings for my PS3, but usually I don't have too many complications. I might try food, but not sure stuffing a ham sandwich into my USB ports will earn me any trophies aside from one of those idiots of the year awards ;)

Yea I am up for random multi player anything be it ACB or RDR :) I am only a weedy level 8 on that. Yea coming online at that time for me is not too much of a problem, you are only 5 to 6 hours behind my time zone so I have just finished work, showered and tummy full so gaming ready by then ;)

If it is just zero, yourself and me then yea the trophy makes sense, but otherwise we can mess around killing each other and other players in normal matches, or you can head shot me while I work out what is going on with RDR, since I know how lovely you two are ;)
