I was 26 or 28 and I beat him on my first try. I used Blackrose and Sanjuro.

Level 47. I was concerned about his attacks and having to heal to many times so I level up Kite so he could take at least two hits before I had to heal.

ok your a bit paranoid.

just as a side question, how much damage did you do when you touched him.

also i just faced tarvos and he was hard but the thing about him was he was annoying as hell! that dirty play (i forgot the name) where the nail come's out of him and strike's you and instantly kills you-most annoying thing ever!

skeith still the hardest though!

Man how long did it take you to get to lvl 47??
I didn't think anyone would go that far since Skieth is only the first boss.

lvl. 31, I took Blackrose and either Mistral or Elk, I think it was Elk, I bought like, 99 each of Health Drinks, Restoratives, Mage's Souls, and Antidotes, and about 50 or 60 Revives, I gave a bunch of these items to my party members, and told them to use whatever skills available, then I just hung back and healed and restored SP, occasionally running up and using a skill.

I just bashed away on him until i could drain him.. constantly healing my party.. also had tons of buff... ;p

Kite was the savior of the day.. resurected blackrose XX times.. ^^ for some reason she was his main target.. hehe

a good tactic with the phases is to have the other's attack the phase until death while you just heal.

Well if the others are weak then it might take a while to defeat it.
And why don't you just go attack it like crazy then retreat for recover or let your teamates recover instead because you might be the strongest out of all at most times.

The first time, I tried to fight him at about 28, and I got my butt handed to me, because I didn't know how to fight him.
The second time, I fought him at 29-30, and let my two party members attack while I stood back and resurrected them whenever I could. It was long, but I got him at that level.

i did mine funny...
i was level 35
everyone else slightly under (of course!!!) lol...

i say i did it funny cuz, i did no offensive... i had BR and Mistral... they both went all out and i was using them as pawns... merely had them get in his face and i healed from a FAR FAR distance away... and at the very end i made sure i did the final hit... lol...

Hehe yeah dont remember what level I did it at but yea, I stayed far and healed too, but I still got hit big time myself.
I too made sure I had the finishing blow.

it's like 'yeah attack him' he's on his last leg's and just before they can kill him, i sweep in from out of no-where and do the whole running samurai thing and they're dead!

I beat him with a Level 27 party. Well, Kite was at Level 27, so everyone else was likely one or two levels lower. I tried it at 24, but BlackRose just kept dying at a single staff swipe.

I used a lvl. 28 party of Kite, BlackRose, and Piros.

I just used a bunch of speed charms to keep my distance from Skeith, and let Piros and BlackRose take the damage and do the damage, while I healed. [I don't trust wavemasters when it comes to boss battles.]

Not neccisarilly, I find that they generally have more SP, I equip them (and everyone else) with a cap that Heals the most for the party and ressurects, and finding that considering that you almost always, if not always, must bring blackrose, you pretty much have the strongest attack (if you use all the books on yourself). I beat them all one time doing this except for skeith (lvl.25 1st X'P) , phase "6" , and Tarvos.
