There are no big fillers like Naruto has.
After saving rukia they went back to the real world just to descover the Bounto soon after. Then the bounto's goal is complete and they go to Spirit world for revenge and Ichgio and the crew chase after.
but when they were in the real world fighting them a few of the people from the spirit world come to help or watch over the place.
and after they beat the Bounto they go back again .. this time to find the arrencard who are creations of Aizen. in the mean time Ichigo is trying to controle the Hollow inside from the help of the vizard...
it helps to watch all the episodes

at the end of space runaway ideon (Densetsu Kyojin Ideon), apparently the creator had the series end in a way where there couldn't be any sequels, as apparently he hated them. so he had the whole universe blow up

Yeah, I know, that doesn't mean more things died though. The Gunbuster universe seems more full of things to kill, since they're essentially fighting against said universe's immune system...

i haven't actually heard of that. but that does sound epic and pretty interesting.
will have to check it out ^^

The battle between Goku and Vegeta in DBZ. Never before did I realize that a five minute battle could be stretched into about 7 episodes.
No, I'm not being serious here. DBZ as a whole was nothing more than a farce.

I have sadly not seen much anime,but Naruto vs Sasuke in the Valley of the End comes to mind.Awesomes stuff.
Next would be Ichigo vs Byakuya

Actually, everything I marked in bold there is fillers ;D
Unlike Naruto however, the Bleach fillers had it's own consistent storyline, whereas the Naruto fillers had like, 3-episode storylines xP
But still, they were fillers and looking at the quality of them, it did show :3
As for epic anime battles, I'd have to say last Freedom vs Impulse fight in Gundam SEED Destiny.
THAT was epic :'3

It would've been good if kira stayed comatose after it.
Seriously, that was just a way for kira to get a good return policy on the freedom which he had insurance on.

I would have to say the last cou2 or 3 episodes of Godannar. Now those are some plot twists and battles from hell right there!
