Have to be honest, I started off not liking the show.. then it started making sense and now I cannot wait for the second season!! MORE ANSWERS!! RIKA MIGHT LIVE!! YESSSSSS!! After watching and rewatching season 1, the only Arcs I really don't like are the Keichii Question arc(Onikakushi-hen) and the Shion Answer arc(Meakashi-hen).. those two arcs just piss me off once you know all the other information from the series
I've done a decent amount of research so I actually get why everyone is still alive. So there's a 100% chance that everyone is back for the second season(at least for the 2nd and 3rd arc since I don't know what the 1st arc will be like). Off-topic: Is the spoiler tag broken or something? I can't see anything I wrote between the two spoiler tags.
 Basically a spirit/powerful being restarts the month of June every time Rika dies(even if the disaster doesn't occur) and I guess before Keichii's break-through in the last arc of season 1, Rika and this other thing had basically given up of every seeing the end of June. So since Rika has died in every arc so far(in the ones you don't actually see her die in she still dies sadly) no one can get past June, alive or dead. So in the 2nd and 3rd arcs of season 2 I'm 99% sure we won't see any of the main cast(Keichii and all his cute female friends) killing eachother since Rika remembers a lot of what makes everyone go insane in the previous June-loops and works to prevent these things.. sorry if that dissapoints anyone.

Anyways, I've very interested in the 1st arc of season 2 cause I think it's anime only, and the very last part of the season cause I'm ready to see everyone live and be happy.. or at least live

BTW I'm kinda tired so I didn't read all the posts thoroughly.. sorry for repeating anything too often.

This is good news. I absolutley loved the the first season. Although, the torture scenes made me, flinch and crinch, especially with the ripping of the fingernails. >_< Ouch, anyway, I am glad they are coming out with a second series. Although, I think I scared jimbob away from the series. Haha, he's not to fond of maggots.

The new, anime-exclusive arc is just gonna fill in the holes Studio DEEN made in the first season. They missed ALOT of important information in ALL the arcs, 'specially in Tsumihoroboshi-hen. (The last arc of the first season)

It was kinda annoying that they didn't even hint at the whole time restart/alternate world thing until that arc, then Rika mentions "endless June" and the first time through I was like "wait, wtf is that?" Dunno if they're definitly doing 8 episodes per arc for season 2, but if the first is gonne be an info arc, maybe they should've cut it to like 6 episode, since I get the feeling there's going to be a LOT going on to animate in the last two arcs. I'm not looking foreward to the end of the Minagoroshi-hen arc.. poor Rika (again lol..).

 That's Hanyu, who basically is the being responsible for the never-ending repeat on June. She wants to make sure Rika doesn't die like she's "fated" to. I think Rika is the one that calls her Oyashiro-sama.

Actually. If you wanna get technical, keiichi survived as well. Because remember at the end of that one arc whee Keiichi was  pushed off the bridge by Satoko..and after the town was flooded with gas? They said that there was one survivor from the whole Village: keiichi Maebara.

The first episode of the new season was VERY informative. And the animation is superb! It is way better than the first season, that's for sure.

Rika's gonna be the one who  tries to keep everything going well and making sure everyone stays happy. I'm not sure if she's directly involved, but she helps out somehow with things happening like Keichii giving Mion the doll instead of giving it to Rena and have the group be friends with that police-guy so he doesn't single off one of the kids after the festival like he usually does. From what I've read it basically sounds likes she's the "bomb-squad" and she tries to "defuse" everyone's triggers so no one goes nuts.

I don't know about you all. But I thought the English for the first season was really bad. I just prefer to watch it in hjapanese instead. I'm waiting for episode 2 of season 2. They explained a lot of stuff in that first episode. But, I am wondering where keichi is, since he survived the fall from the bridge.

Im wondering the same thing....But, when they were talking about it in season 2 ep1 detective guy (can't remeber his name)
says that Rena dosen't have to get revenge for all of their deaths.
