I use Windows Xp mainly, though it isn't perfec, i've learned to ignore its problems. Instead of software adapting to people, its viceversa.
And when Windows breaks, I use my trusty Kanotix Linux live cd! (now in LIME FLAVOR!)

I've always used Windows. I'm quite satisfied with the system and I likely won't be switching anytime soon.

Two operating systems I've used so far are Linux Ubuntu, and Windows (95,98,2000,XP). I'll agree with the fact that Windows is a glitchy OS. There hasn't been one time I've booted XP up and NOT had a problem with something. Linux is good because practically everything is free. Free games, free programs, etc. The negative thing about Linux though, is that a lot of stuff that is out for Windows isn't out for the Linux OS, such as WMV codecs/decoders and stuff like that. It's just annoying when you finally download a high-quality video after 3 days of waiting, and you discovor that you can't play it. I hadn't heard of "Wine" up till today, so my views of Linux and Windows have changed a bit. However, I have a question about "Wine". I might have heard about a program that converts Windows .exe's to Linux .bin file and such...is this program,"Wine", it (I can't view it on my school laptop)? Also, does it have the capability to play things off of a play disc (even though that's pretty unimportant considering you can just get a no-cd patch for it)?

Another thing I'd like to add to my previous message...I heard "Wine" doesn't work too well from a VERY reliable source.
Abriv question...

Can I ask everyone a question? I'm still pretty much a n00b here, and was hoping to get an answer to what's been bugging me:
Does anybody know what "
Anbu" means? I tryed to check it out at [urbendictionary.com] but it didn't have any explanation.

And I've seen this written a lot w/ some fanarts, 'specially Naruto. Just curious as to what is means.
Anyhoo, I took the poll (I use
Windows), so..... yeah. Sorry if this is annoying but like I said: I'm still a n00b.
Thanx to anyone who replies to this question. I really appriciate it. ^_^

P.S. As long as I'm asking n00b questions, I was wonderin' how/if you can change the color of the text?

I have used WINE with knoppix and it worked very well. I was able to get my audio player from Windows running. What you heard was probably because it is still in the beta phase and they don't have all of the windows commands recorded yet so some Windows programs don't work too well. I have installed Ubuntu Linux and it reduced my lag from ten minutes to one second. You don't realize how much Windows is causing your PC to lag until you remove it.
You're correct. Windows does eat up your system resources savagely. However, the fact of the matter is that nobody is really going to care or change their OS because of this topic. This is because most people probably wouldn't know how to use Linux. I've had the OS for nearly half a year, and I still don't quite have a full grasp on things, such as terminal commands and how to install certain programs. Also, from what I can tell, a good portion of people in today's world don't understand a thing about computers, so they probably wouldn't know how to install a new OS properly or anything; much less use Linux. However, these are meerely results of observations I've made over time while living in my community. It may be different in your cases. I wouldn't know. But I will agree on two things. One; Linux is a great operating system. And two; Windows is a glitchy OS.

Haseo:terrorofdeath wrote:More and more people are currently abandoning Windows and switching to Linux and Macintosh. Windows is shitty. That I can say. Seriously, it took me twenty five minutes to install Linux while it took me SEVEN HOURS to install that dogshit "upgrade" if you can call it that called SP2. I have been writing simple trojans lately to test the security of Linux and the results is that they have yet to do anything.
Yes, more and more
experienced people probably are. But for those who don't know jack squat, they'll stick with Windows cause its what they
know. I'm sure even you would agree with me on that.

Right, I still dont use linux as much as I want because I simpily can't figure out how to work everything. its like learning a new language. People are used to the way windows does things, and its hard to change.

Ive got a Windows and they've got Macs at school and well... Mac havent got as many games as Windows, and it messes up most of the sites I go to. So I say Windows FTW(for the win).
