I imagine because it is announced for android and iphone that it has a good chance of being localized for NA.
If not, androids can just find the file of the game and install it on their phones. iphone people on the other hand...

Bandai Namco America would never localize a cellphone game. Especially not a .hack cellphone game.

They don't need to advertise it as a dot hack game, it looks great and I'm sure it would see well at a reasonable price.
At this point it looks way better than anything on the android market right now.

Translation contracts for digital media are decided beforehand. Gamers have seen this time and time again. Unless an announcement for an international version is stated with the release date. Then the translation of the media depends on the success of the media.

It's not a matter of what they need to or don't need to do. There's an extremely low likelihood of this game ever being localized outside of Japan. That's just how Bandai Namco rolls. Plus it's a cell phone game, which have something of a low rep in the west. Cell phone games are generally treated as "casual" in America, so you'll rarely find anything heavier than, say, Bejeweled.

On Live Arena, Matsuyama said that in the gaming industry, "Summer" could mean September or October.

Understood. Aren't Japan on a different seasonal system than Columbia anyway. Also based on the premise should Guilty Gear be considered a split in the timeline?
(And yes that was a real mistake)

No reason to believe there's a timeline split. Generally, that's not really an assumption you should make unless the creators say so outright. Especially when the game's not even out yet.

I agree, I haven't heard anything about the premise that would indicate it's a split in the timeline, they've given us very little information. But they did say they designed the game to be something that could be enjoyed by .hack fans.

I got it. Because the game is a dothack concept, I was thinking the premise may have something general about it separating the series from the main storyline. In other news does anyone else enjoy the art? Most of the designs for the new unit cards mimic their R:X designs. Level one cards seem to have more new characters. But man since when did .hack favor so much realism? Also the in game
equipment seem familiar.:

Surely I enjoy the art!
Helba's abs.... *leer The style kinda reminded me of Genzoman's.
It would be awesome if there's printed version of this
EDIT:
I just realized that no characters present in Versus included in card list... except Sora Yuuki.

Looking at neo-Haseo, all I can say is, just imagine what Tokio will look like in this game...

It would be exactly that, but somehow look ridiculously badass. In much the way that Kite is a butterfly angel pope thing and Haseo looks like an albino stripper with arm tumors.
