I think you might be misinterpreting my previews post, I was raised in Mexico and had friends there that were Mexican, never mentioned having Mexican friend here in the USA
Also, we speak od the panic Americans had regarding immigrants (ALL immigrants, including legal and illegal ones most of the immigrants if not all however, were legal because at that time citizenship was not as difficult to obtain as it is today ) not the war itself and here it does seem some people overreact concerning the level of danger illegal immigrants pose on the USA

This. Same thing happened in Canada, too. I'd suggest "Obasan" by Joy Kogawa as a good read on what one of the better Canadian internment camps was like and how they were treated back then.
