((OOC: Haha, sorry, I deleted my post because I read the roleplay rules and I thought I was probably breaking them. So anyone who didn't see my post might be confused. But whatever.))
Name- Iris Campbell
Handle- Fairy
Gender- Female
Age- 22
Abilities- Aquatic, Levitation, Physical
Appearance-

Weapon(s) of choice- Small hand guns
Bio- Iris was born in an abandoned city, overrun by abominations. Her parents were in hiding there when she was born, not knowing that there were safe cities outside. Unfortunately, the soul-eating creatures found them the day Iris was born, her mother's cries of pain during labor alerting them as to the family's whereabouts. Both her parents were killed, but Iris lived though she no longer possessed her soul energy. Her superhuman physical ability was the only reason she didn't die of starvation. Going only by natural instinct, she taught herself to crawl and had managed to wander into City 9 by the age of 4. She was discovered there by an elderly couple, Mr. and Mrs. Campbell, who adopted her and took her to live with them and their middle-aged son, Lucas. They brought her up, thinking that she was an ordinary orphan and not knowing she had no soul energy. Since she had no upbringing before she was four, bringing her up was no easy task. Speech proved to be the most difficult skill for her. Even into her teens and twenties, she was quiet and childish; as if she was trying to relive the childhood she never had. She would play and sleep with dolls and stuffed animals, but had a strange fixation on their eyes; she would rip or cut the eyes out and keep them in a decorative paper box. Lucas taught her how to shoot a gun so she could defend herself, so she always carried one on her. Later a friend of the Campbell family, who happened to be a researcher of living humans with no soul energy, came to dinner and noticed Iris seemed a little off: more off than just the retardation that the Campbells assumed she had. She asked how the Campbells came to have her living with them and got their story. With their permission, the researcher took Iris to her lab for some tests and never brought her back...

((Good to have ya on board Blood. Like Az said Db gets busy sometimes. As do the rest of us as well, but it's a good way to practice the virtue of patience, right?))
He didn't react to Jacky putting her arms around him and just continued staring off into the black so he didn't notice the tear. He still wasn't sure what to think about the whole situation. Given her history he didn't think she was lying, but it felt like he was missing something...something important. She said she trusted him now, and he had been trying to get the trust of the others, yes, but he didn't expect her to be the first. Kiva must have done or said something. When he finally spoke again it was after he had set the cans down and turned to look at her and spoke kindly although the confused undertone still came through. "Jacklyn, don't jump to conclusions based on half-baked thoughts, okay? Asides from combat situations I'm a little slow so it can take me a while to come to a conclusion especially a correct one." He rubbed the tear off her cheek as he went back to heating the soup. "I'm sorry...for making you cry. I swear I will not make you regret choosing to trust me." His mind almost went to Angie, but he sidetracked himself towards everything involving tomato soup before the name could come up, although the numerous feelings that revolved around the name were obvious enough in his mind. Love, anger, sadness, hate, joy, fury, and many others.
He closed his eyes and looked away. He thought about everything that had just happened. Trust, feelings, arms, a tear. He was missing something, he was sure of it, but he just couldn't place what it was. "I'll do whatever I can for you and the others." He wrapped a can in a cloth, removed one of her hands, and placed the can in it. "Soup should be ready." He punched a hole in the lid with two fingers and pealed it back for her. He punched a small hole in his own and took a sip as he looked around. Something had caught his ears, he wasn't sure what it was though. It could have just been his imagination, but there was a nagging feeling in his gut. He set the hardly touched can down and hopped up. "It might be nothing, but I think I heard something. Stay put until I get back. I'm going to go check it out." He dropped off the side of the building and hopped from window to window to slow his descent and mute the sound of his landing before he ran the perimeter again, taking greater care to be sure he missed nothing this time.

Iris looked at the strange lab equipment around her. The friend of the people she fondly called "Gramma" and "Grampa" told her she had no soul, but she was still human. She wasn't sure she quite grasped the concept of a "soul." This friend, named Gigi, also told her that she could do things that humans with souls couldn't do, like fly and breath in water. Iris knew she could fly, but she had never done it around other people before. Really, she didn't see much reason. This new "home" that Gigi had taken her to was so unfamiliar. The white, sterile walls and bleach-clean sheets were unwelcoming and unfriendly. Iris curled her legs up to her chest and held a pink teddy bear with no eyes close, wishing there was someone she could really call friend nearby.

Hm, maybe it was nothing after all. He heard the sound of earth moving as he turned around and managed to dive out of the way just in time to avoid...something. He didn't get a good look at it in the dark. Ok, the timing of that was just too perfect so whatever it is can see me, or at least is able to tell where I am and what direction I'm facing. The sound of movement again and Kenpachi rolled, this time he felt something cold splatter all over him. Judging by the consistency it's probably mud. He ran his hand down the gun he had brought with him, sure enough it was caked in the stuff. He might be able to get off one shot. Guns, so unreliable.
He slung the weapon and readied his fists. He tensed his muscles as if he was about to start running and sure enough the sound of earth moving again, this time he turned to face the sound and caught a glimpse of what was trying to attack him, as well as a feel. It seemed almost wolf like but it was practically man sized. A sand wolf, a rare creature that was sought after by many collectors. Highly intelligent, could burrow beneath the ground and swim in it like a shark, and worst of all their claws were sharper than most blades and could cut through even tempered steel. Or in this case Kenpachi's neck. Although it was only a graze and he managed to get a hit in of his own, breaking it's back.
And worst of all they tended to travel in packs, modern day velociraptors. On the plus side he knew what he was dealing with now. The sound of more movement, although this time it was mostly shifting beneath the ground. He counted four no five more. The next wave would likely consist of two. If he killed them both the rest would likely flee for the time being, but if he just killed one and allowed the other to strike him again. He might be able to get them all. Two came at him from either side, he rolled forward and a third sprang out directly beneath him. It got it's claws into his chest but he broke it's neck before it could deal any real damage. Kenny crouched low onto all fours and let out a low growl of challenge. All of the remaining four came at him this time and all four ran into a wall of flames, punches, and kicks.
Although the extra food would be good, he left five of the six there taking the alpha back to base with him. He cooked it from the inside out while he walked. He'd skin it later, with the feast out there nothing would come after this one. "Kenny, are you ok?" "I'm fine Kiva. Just reacquainting these little dogs to the food chain." He tossed the wolf and mudded up gun in the bed of the truck and covered them. Kenpachi grabbed some bandages and hopped back up to where he had left Jacklyn. "Should be safe now." He took his shirt off and set it down next to his can of soup. A little fire sprang into existence in the air and Kenny began treating and bandaging his wounds. "Jacklyn, could you get the one on my neck please? I can't see it properly."

((OOC: Hey guys, sorry about not being around over the last week. This is hard to put but in order to properly explain I have to put this. My cousin commited suicide over the last weekend. I have been in mourning since then as well as having gone to the funeral. I am feeling better than I did earlier this week and I will be posting for the story soon. Sympathy is appreciated but not neccesary. My personal issues aside it seems I have missed a good deal of story ... AND A NEW PLAYER! I hope this means the story will become even better than I had originally envisioned.))

After his little 'outburst' Mike had been sitting on the floor in the dark of the room he fell asleep in. He had been keeping close tabs on as much of what the others were doing as he could without being truly intrusive. He 'listened' to the conversation Jacklyn had with Kiva then Ken, and the later fight Ken had with those beasts. Those wolves interested Mike greatly. They are indeed dangerous and attack humans on occasion but the reason he was so interested was that he had caught a small whisper in the minds of those animals. So small in fact he wasn't sure what it was. It had a certain feeling to it, a familiar but alien feeling. The whisper was something that had nothing to do with the animals themselves. Feeling frustrated Mike hit the floor and punched straight through it making a small hole in the floor. He sighed and pulled his hand out. Getting upset about not knowning something was childish. It was just that it felt very important that he should know what that whisper was.
The sun had not risen yet but the sky was starting to lighten. Making sure he had everything Mike went back downstairs. Once back down he headed over to Ken's truck and went to open the passenger side door only to find it locked. "Hey, open the door." "No hablo english." "Obre por favor." "Iie." "Kudasai." "Niet." "You know, I speak over forty languages including latin and summerian but I refuse to argue with anyone in all of them over opening a simple car door. Now open it or i'm ripping it off the damn hinges!!." The lock disengauged. "Thank you." Kiva kept a wary eye on Mike as he opened the glove compartment and slipped the holo-harp in to it with a short note that simply said, "Sorry about before. Hope you like music." Signed ~Mike That done he closed the glove compartment and looked at Kiva quickly. "Pease let Jacklyn know that I put an apology gift in there. She'll know what for." Mike closed the truck door gently and sat with his bike, waiting for everyone else to wake up.

Jacklyn started to blush as Kenpachi took off his shirt but she shortly regained her composure. I'm acting like a giddy schoolgirl, it's probablly because of that shot dr. Sue gave to me while I was sleeping. We had talked about this but I never consented to it. Who would come up with a shot that removed temporarily removed all inhibitions a person has? I had been following his mind since he entered the compound but...I wonder what Sue's intentions are here? Jacklyn thought as she put her half empty can of soup down; walked over to Kenpachi and started to treat the wound on his neck. She took some of the bandages and carefully applied them to the wound. " There, I hope that will help some...I do not know that much first aid." Jacklyn said in an embarrassed voice.

Hibiki looked over the horizon, and checked his watch. "Sun should rise within the hour..." He stepped off the building, falling calmly until he stopped just short of the ground. He looked around and realized something, but shook off the realization. He blinked and doused himself with water again. He then walked back to the vehicles. He saw Mike, and cocked his head as a sort of hello, walking straight to Wes. "G'morning! I missed you Sharkie!" Wes's monitor showed his face and he ran into the screen slamming his face against the display comically.
((Sorry about not posting in like forever, but I had a lot of stuff to catch up with in school.))

Kenpachi put gentle pressure on the bandaged wound. "It's fine." He pulled his shirt back on and returned to sipping the soup. "Sorry, remind me again. What were we talking about before I jumped off?"

Jacklyn was relieved when Kenpachi put his shirt back on. She was unsure how much longer she could stand not staring at him. Jacky took another sip of her soup before replying. " We were talking about how I'm not supposed to jump to conclusions and how you were ok with me trusting you." Jacky said trying not to be awkward about it. It feels like my stomach is full of butterflies! Why is it so hard to talk to him? Jacky thought as she tried not to blush.

((Sorry, I've not been checking this one of late.))
"Conclusions and trust, huh?" Where was I going with that again? Or was I going somewhere? He shrugged and sat down on the corner of the roof. "Why don't you talk some? I seem to have lost my train of thought dealing with the sand wolves."

(OOC: Its okay! Sorry it took me so long to reply! I recently got back into Gaia-Online!)
Jacklyn giggled. " It's okay. I had a few questions for you. Were things as rough for you as they were for me when you were experimented on? Those are not fond memories of mine. Also, would you mind getting to know me? I'm sorry if I seem a bit stand offish; your just the first man I have talked to who does not want to use me for my...body." Jacklyn said as she took a sip of her tomato soup. I hope he will give me a chance. After all if he does not I...understand. I have been a bit of a jerk to him! If this does not go well it is going to be a long ride to our next stop! Jacklyn thought as she smiled innocently at kenpachi.

"My experimentation, rough? Didn't feel that bad to me, but maybe I just went in with a higher threshold. Of course, during the early experimentation I was a bit numb to the world so that may have contributed to it somewhat. The entire world feels different when you don't see anything left for you to lose, I don't recommend it. As for getting to know you, I'm not making any active efforts to shun you and we'll be spending a great deal of time together in the coming days." Not trying to use her for her body...should I say something to reinforce that or just leave it as is? I'll leave it for now, it shouldn't become an issue later on. "So, what about you would you care to share? Of course there's really only one way to truly meet a man or in this case a woman. And we seem to be short on volcanoes, so I guess talking will have to do." It was meant to be a joke, but he wasn't sure he placed it right or even said it right.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(First Post in here! Lets go.)
Hayate T'Eraon came out of the teleport in a most unfortunate manner. 50 feet up. As was customary for this kind of situation, he curled into a ball and dropped, hitting the overhangs of rooftops and scrabbling at them, trying to slow his fall. A few seconds later, he hit the ground, trying to roll as his sword followed him out, stabbing directly into the ground next to his head. Where am I and what the hell am I doing here...

(Sorry for the double post... Bringing Hayate in.)
Hayate heard a clatter from a bunch of vehicles a few hundred meters to his left. He struggled to his feet, cursing in gaelic as he hauled Ascalon to his back, scrambling into an alley to hide from the group until he had his bearings.

"Is that...something's falling out of the sky!" Wes's face turned to that of genuine distress. Hibiki turned around and ran to the site. "What is it?" Wes's body projected out of the monitor as far as it could, but couldn't see anything.
Hibiki got to the body and saw the blade next to his head, "Are you okay sir?" Hibiki asked, less distressed as the man didn't seem heavily injured, "And if you don't mind me asking...did you fall out of the sky?"

Hayate pulled himself to his feet, grabbing a hold of Ascalon's hilt as he rose, using it as a point to go from. "Fine." He looked around. "Where exactly is this? Or when?"

Hibiki gave him a quizzical look, "I can't really answer where we are since...we're wandering...come with me." He signaled a hand and turned back to the base. "I don't really know the date, but it doesn't really matter..." He looked at his watch, "It's very early in the morning to be doing anything." He looked back at the young man, "Are you human?"

Hibiki turned back towards the base, "Sadly I'm not, none of us are, but it doesn't really matter." He walked to the base and sat down, "It was an abomination Wes." "B-but...no way! He totally fell outta the sky! Is he hurt?" "Doesn't look it, by the way, my name is Jacques, and this is Wes." "Nice to meet ya!" Wes bowed respectfully.
