That's because, just like what my previous post poked at, what's accepted by society is ruled by the society itself and if the loudest part of it is yaoi-fangirls, then what they say will be accepted. They don't consider themselves perverts despite the fact that they may very well be the most perverted of us all ;P ("may very well be" because it's obviously not a guaranteed fact. It just kinda seems that way ;P) because it's commonly accepted for them to adore their perverted comics and pictures. If you ask one of them "do you realize how perverted you are with your yaoi-adoring and how contradictory it is to shout "YOU PERVERT!" at men who look at yuri?", then their heads will probably turn all funny and they, depending on how that specific person is, may or may not come up with a tacked together bad excuse to try to defend themselves :D

Basically, yuri-fanboys (are males even fanboys to the yuri in the same way as girls are yaoi-fanboys ;P? -please note that our resident Mega Perv is an exception-) have gotten a "taboo" stamp slapped on their faces =P
Besides, when people think "perverted", they think "porn" and that leads to "female in sexual acts"(despite the fact that males most certainly are included ;P Silly society) and as such, it's socially accepted for females to bash males for looking at it as people subconsciously consider it "degrading" to the females (which considering most of it, aside from rape which is highly immoral and many avoid, was made with the females' consent)



Basically, society sucks and isn't making sense.
The problem is that humans will continue doing things that aren't logical until someone makes it clear to them that it isn't. In such cases, they will either try to justify it in some way or they'll accept it and do what makes sense.
Too bad that never really happens =P

Dude...I SO 100% agree with you there. The trouble with this type of thing is that even though everyone has their own opinion...the main thing that not many do is to try and respect their decision and not judge them on who they are, but what they are. Now...I happen to have seen a few yuri based anime myself and personally, even though I have some interest in it...does that make me a pervert? No. I'm saying that the reason why I like it is that it's more on the story, and sometimes the pairing as well. THAT IS ALL!!!

Second...I think people sometimes just love to rush into conclusions and just try and shoot down those that like this thing a bit too much. Sure there are some that seem to be "perverts" but, like what was mentioned...THAT IS NOT THE CASE!

Third, just because it's yuri, DOES NOT mean that it's porn. Those people that are perverts can't even distinguish what's fantasy and what's reality.

[Oh...and in regards to pairing...I like ChikanexHimeko from Kannazuki no Miko. Great yuri canon anime series. Though short, the story is really good. Those that like that type of thing, and DON'T consider it similar to porn...should watch this. It'll make you laugh and cry. You'll experience this at least between 2-3 times throughout the whole series.]

I Just can't stand stupid pairings.. and by stupid I mean **** that will never happen. and by Never happening I mean characters that is Obvously straight or gay. or when that character Obviously likes a Certain character and people are pairing them up with someone totaly diffrent... like Hinata and Neji or Sasuke and Hinata.. she loves Naruto god damn it.. stop ***** up her personality

What you have to understand, though, is that a good chunk of the anime fandom consists of sex-starved boys and girls who like to indulge their imaginations. Yaoi and yuri are both essentially the same concept, just appealing to different tastes. The goal isn't to come up with a pairing that makes sense in the story the characters are from, but to pick characters who are either popular or attractive, and reimagine them as lovers. Obviously in the Death Note canon, Light Yagami would never be interested in L, but that's not the point. Light and L are both popular and attractive characters, and fangirls love boys with other boys.

Those Sex Starved Boy and girls need to learn a little thing called "Self Control" lol. I Don't like it when people utterly destroy a character.. SPecialy Characters that are my favorites. Its fine if they think it to them self .. but when the start spreading or saying stuff like "Na Uh! She totaly likes this person instead.. that other person is just a cover up" Thats the point when I want to utterly destroy them

Anybody who lets fanart, doujinshi or fanfiction alter the way they perceive a character needs serious professional help. Noone considers fan pairings to be part of the canon. That's why they're called fan pairings.
