[his heart skipped a beat and his mind went blank]

Ryota couldn't open his eyes, he could only hear. And no matter how much he wanted to intervene, he couldn't do it. He could only hear. Different powers...so that wasn't his full strength or potential?

As they approached Ace's room Kitty sent him a message, Hey WAKE UP! Company. 'Who is it?' Alice. 'Who?' Mystery Girl. Ace got up slowly, his body seemed to be back to normal and he was more or less rested. He looked in the mirror, his hair was a mess, but that really didn't matter. He started to put his glasses back on then shrugged, MG had seen his eyes already it didn't seem to bother her. He opened the door when the girls were getting close. "Hey, want to come in for a bit? I'm afraid I don't have much beyond water and flavoring right now, but you're welcome to it." He turned to go sit back down on his bed and pulled the chair out from his desk for Alice, should she come in.

rylo: but

client: come with me....our school can help you...you can leave all this behind you....no more murder....

rylo: i....

Alice stood outside the door, stunned, for a few seconds, "Are you psychic?" She asked as she walked in. "It's just that you new I was coming and I'm sooo thirsty. I haven't had anything to drink since I left town and walked here yesterday."

Alice let Kitty hop down onto the ground and sat on the available chair.

Ryota almost jumped. He was paralyzed. He couldn't do a thing. Rylo, don't go! He's evil, he won't help you at all! Don't leave your friends behind!

client: you don't belong here, you have had that feeling ever since you got here

"Ahaha, no I'm not psychic, but Kitty and I do talk to each other." He caught Kitty and set her down in his lap to rub her fur. "As for all the water, liquid cooled processors take longer to overheat than air cooled. Random seguey, do you think the dean's mad that I didn't show up?"

She quickly sat up in her bed as if wakeing up from a nightmare.
I have a bad feeling..what is it?

"Wait, you didn't turn up on purpose? Rylo said you were asleep." Alice thought back to the time, "No. He moved on pretty quick after I said you weren't there. And Ryota was late too." Alice looked about the room. It didn't smell like a guy's room, unlike John's back home.

"Do you have this room all to your self?"

rylo: but......

client: you can see it can't you?....the pureness of hearts? thats how you know im not lying

"No, Kitty's here too, but asides from us, yeah. But no, I didn't skip on purpose. I was taking a cat nap. While Rylo was sleeping here on campus last night, I was sitting out next to some rocks and babysitting a house with a uav." He grabbed a couple of waterbottles from the fridge and pulled out the flavor packs, opting for grape himself. "For whatever reason they opted not to give me a roomie, that's fine by me though. So why were you wondering if I had this room to myself? Are you and Kanda not getting along?"

rylo: i....

client: you'd find out who you are, your real powers....and your soul....

rylo: give me a day to decide....

client: very well, see you tomorrow morning

[then the client left the room leaving rylo to his thoughts]

Alice half laughed, "No, it's not that. But I don't really know her that well in any case so if you're lonely I could always apply to switch rooms. That would help with your violin lessons."

Alice thought back to when she first met Kanda. "Come to think of it, when I first walked in on Kanda she seemed to have some privacy issues. She was a little jumpy. But I was only asking because your room is much cleaner than any other boy's room I've ever seen. It's just a little surprising."

[walked out and entered aces room]

rylo: ace buddy you gotta help me out

I can't get over this feeling it's just geting on my nerves...
She looked over at the other bed.
Alice must be out doing something. That leaves just me here...

"I'll take that as a compliment." he looked around at the room. "I suppose I don't really do much in here, except sleep and surf cyberspace. Plus, Kitty doesn't shed so I guess that helps too. I wouldn't mind having you as a roomie. You don't seem bothered by my eyes so I think it could work fine."

The door to Ace's room started to open, he quickly pulled on his glasses and waved to Rylo. "Hey, water?" He grabbed a bottle and held it out to Rylo.

Damn it! My stupid body! Ryota quickly fell back asleep as soon as he could. He hoped he could sleep off the paralysis.
