If Haseo is indeed Sora then he must have suffered some severe accident to make him forget years of his life since he seemed so new to the game in the begining. Either that or the comas themselves are erased from the victims minds over time. I dunno this just got very confusing.
Maybe when Haseo awoke from his coma (which was prior to IMOQ) he had lost all momory of R:1, beauce when your in a coma for so long you forget how to do somethings. Walking for instance.

Sora
Alph
Carl
Orca
Seig
Kazu
Well, based on their real-world names, we know that Haseo can't be Carl or Kazu, he's not Sieg because that's Kuhn, and Alph is probably a girl offline... So that really only leaves Sora or Orca, and the age seems to indicate Sora more than Orca...
This information has blown my MIND. Remember when everyone was making the connections between Basho/Haseo and Sora, based on the names?
Just...damn...
I didn't even look at the Bo information--all that registered in my mind was "HASEO IS SORA?!" So. *runs back and looks*
EDIT: Read the Bo thing.
...I think I now hate his mother.
EDIT AGAIN: Just remembered! Haseo can't be Orca since Orca's name is Yasuhiko. Holy crap, he HAS to be Sora...

Hmm.. Gabi is confirmed to be a college professor. Although still nothing about his relationship with Ovan. (maybe he tought Ovan, I really have no idea)
Taihaku is a physician who treated Tsukasa when she was in coma.

But I thought the fanbook already confirmed that Taihaku is
Balmung?
Well, if he isn't, I'll be glad, because I HATED
Balmung...
But conflicting information. Uwah...

Then Gabi is one weird college professor.
So if the
Balmung=Taihaku thing is true,
Balmung is a physician? o_O

It's from the strategy guide, supposedly. If it's a prank it's a very elaborate one, since someone on the official BBS is talking about having read it in a store (and the replies seem to have too), and that thread is seemingly unconnected to wherever these pictures came from. Speaking of which, Niu, where did you get these from? Do you have it? Some amount of fake info can work its way in if you're just going by BBS posts (I saw someone adding in "Gabi=Bear"), are there any more scans?
Umbra wrote:Zelkova: Helba
Taihaku: Balmung
There's been no chatter about these (except as unsupported theories) on the BBS, I assume that it isn't in the book. The "book" mentioned on 2ch where this was stated was just made up, which I called. This one has a bit more weight behind it, the other one had neither scans nor was discussed at all on the official BBS, and didn't even make any sense.
Niu wrote:Taihaku is a physician who treated Tsukasa when she was in coma.
See? It's actually disproven.

Its probably a retcon saying there was another coma victim although its a poorly implemented retcon at that. I guess they wanted to make a further Skeith and Haseo connection.
He can't be Sora, he would have rembered his coma, he would recognized Kite, he would have known Wiseman IRL.
If he is Sora I would tie a rope around my neck.

Just about no one payed attention to Kite during Unison, the only other time Sora definitely would have seen him was in Outbreak where he was still comatose.
The only other time he could have recognized Kite was when invited to his party, which shouldn't be possible since supposedly that "Sora" was an AI. Which also leaves the question was the Sora in .hack//Zero an AI or actually him moving around with Skeith... I'd think the AI would carry Skeith while hunting Aura down, but seeing as there is no translation I would not know this.
As for Haseo being Sora... oh how I will laugh at all the times people got called "N00bs" for thinking this when they were right all along. If this is correct of course. :p

Wait, so what are we suppose to follow on the Taihaku issue? And I agree with Fragments, I think it's a poorly implemented retcon, I have to admit I'll be mad is Haseo is Sora

Actully Sora would have met Kite TWICE. One where Kite frees Sora from Skeith's staff, and the other during the fight with Corbenik.
And it's not even indicated that coma victims would have lost memories during their comas.

I doubt he was even focusing on Kite at all during the Corbenik fight but whatever. Either way if he apparently forgot everything involving the coma, even if it was over a certain period of time, he wouldn't remember that anyway.

It's definitely the AI Sora, not the actual Sora.

Hey, on the topic of Haseo possibly being Sora, this just came to mind:
There's an early episode of Roots where someone--I think it's Ender, but I could be wrong on this--asks about Haseo's name and where he got it from. He takes somewhat of a long pause, then sidesteps the question. Which made me think that his name's origins are at least mildly significant.
Haseo's name supposedly comes from the famous haiku poet, Matsuo Basho--the kanji that spells "Basho" was once, a long time ago, pronounced as "Haseo." And he was the teacher of another famous poet, Sora Kawai.
I always thought the name similarities was supposed to mean that Sora was the friend who introduced Haseo to The World, but...
IF Sora somehow lost all his memories and then became Haseo, I want to know how. That's a vastly significant piece of stuff he's forgotten. And then I want to know how he, by coincidence, was re-introduced to The World by a random friend.
I really prefer the "Haseo is Sora's real world friend" thing to "Haseo is Sora," but if it's true...

No!!! Don't rationalize it! Haseo is not Sora, as long as we wish it, it won't be true

Why is everyone makeing a big deal about it, Sora was awsome allways PKing BT.

Sora =/= Haseo
Taihaku =/= Balmung
Zelkova = Who-the-hell-knows?
Sora can't be Haseo because Haseo didn't know what PKing was at the beginning of Roots. This information has to be either wrong, or a mistranslation.
