The last one is really surprising, so it seen that he got what he wanted, power to protect the weak, and for that he had to become stronger than anyone, but who thought that he would become so powerful... not that he wasn´t in R:1

but Zer0... everyone discussed that the guy with white hair is Taihaku, and the giraffean werewolf(that what he look like to me) is Sirius/Tenrow, even in Vol. 1 they explain this...and after in vol. 2, and once again in Vol. 3... it´s almost commom knowledge, and ROOTS didn´t explain a thing what are emperors in my opinion.

or balmung/taihaku was just being cool. after all, he did say he didn't know where she was, but he wished her well (or something like that). sounds like something balmung could say to me.

Maybe they hired him because Wiseman helped alot in the Twilight Incident, and he's just way too freaking smart.

You learn about some characters by sending them mails (they eventually spit it up, like Yata and Zelkova)
And others like Taihaku, you have to read certain books that work like .Hack//Analysis

As for Helba, I thought it was confirmed she was a female in reality due to SIGN's intro showing a real life representation of Helba dancing. A least I heard Project .hack say it was Helba symbolically.

It was never confirmed exactly who that woman was, but simply speculated upon due to the appearence of Helba at certain points to replace her during the intro sequence to .hack//GIFT.

Interesting note; Balmung, Helba and Wiseman were all still active players during Legend of the Twilight. Though I'd like to know if there is any info on characters such as Gabi, or even Sophora.

What if Gabi was Balmung!
