That doesn't make sense...It sounds more like it should be "I won't run away."

Story-wise, it could mean something like "I'm retreating, but it'll be all over!"

I know what the subs said, why else would I mention the particular issue? It's the problem that "...the conclusion is the same/true!" sounds weird in English, so I was wondering. And soshite means "and then," not but, right? =o
