What exactly do we know about Haseo in real life? This reminds me of all the people in the first round of .hack//SIGN fans who thought Tsukasa was a boy as new episodes were still coming out, because "they can't possibly lie to us"...
I'm not saying he's an AI, infected by an AI, a human, or anything else, I'm just saying I don't know, and I'm not quite sure how you do...

It is confirmed by Hiroshi Matsuyama that Haseo is a human, not an AI, in one of the magazine scans available from dothackers.net.

I have one theory that I thought of that I'll admit is pretty left field but here it is, Haseo is played by someone that is a cyborg ( if you don't know, a cyborg is part human, part machine) so therefore, the person playing Haseo could in fact have an AI attached to him not unlike the way that Cortana is linked to the Master Cheif in Halo. The other idea is that Haseo merged with Skeith because of some sort of system error. It looked kind of like Skeith was absorbing Haseo and not Haseo becoming Skeith so, I will assume that Haseo has the ability to merge with Skeith. Since this is an updated version of The World, my theory of the person that plays as Haseo being a hacker and having a tough time hacking The World because it is an updated version of The World comes back into the light. There has to be some major company funding The World. Maybe not CC corp but some other company could be there.

Cyborg?

That is almost certainly untrue. GU is set in 2017, not 2436 or something like that. The real world outside the game is largely the same as today, Haseo is entirely human. That is one of the points of .Hack, how normal, ordinary people become legendary heroes through the game.

Haseo isn't a hacker either, he's a PKK, just an ordinary player who's grown strong in order to protect himself. And CC Corp is the company that runs The World R:2, that has been confirmed.

I think that Haseo is a normal player just cought up by the destiny just think about Sora; Sora was a normal PK and was the chosen one (by Morganna) to be Skeith I think that the fact that Haseo is a PK (like Sora was) he has some kind of conection with Skeith (I mean is Skeith the Terror of Death Haseo is just tierd death)

We are getting better with technology and it is certainly possible. It takes place twelve years from now so that is still a possibility. We have already had some success with cybernetic implants in monkeys and they are on the top of DARPA's wish list. The implants that I am refferring to allow monkeys to control robots so the idea of Haseo being controlled by a cyborg isn't as farfetched as you might think. A lot of things can change in a few years and look at how much more powerful computers have become in the twenty years between now and 1985 and you will see that this isn't something that I am thinking of randomly.

You're missing my point, .Hack is about normal people living normal lives! Not cyborgs being controlled by AI!

This isn't Halo and it has been confirmed all eight Infinity Characters are PCs, Humans, not robots or AIs.

.hack doesn't have that much advanced technology. Cybernetic prosthetics do not exist, and would probably be found unethical because of CC Corp's monopoly. Haseo is 100% human. No AI guidance or cyborg parts. For all humanity as a whole in .hack knows, there's no such thing as AI. AI is something new in the .hack universe that sprung with minimal human awareness or intervention.

Not to mention that if Haseo was a cyborg, the whole concept of Liminality and the merging of humans and computers would be blown STRAIGHT TO HELL!!!

In the Mix. but since there is no 3...it 1 or 2...so I would pick 2. becuse I don't want Haseo to be and AI...it kind of pointless to think that Haseo can be a Hacker since he is no Helba...and he can't be an AI becuse he not Aura...so what to do...oh well might as well Call him an Hacker or an AI...
But I really think he an Human PK who has the power or going to have the power of Skith later on...or it can be my wishful thinking...yeah might be it...
