Alex's request caught Mariah completely off guard, and before she knew it she had looked to the ground. Immediately, the people around them were questioning what he had said to cause her to react embarrassed, causing her to look back up and force a normal smile onto her lips. "It certainly is."

"See? One small change in reactions and they begin to act like sharks with blood in the water. It's not necessarily the organization as much as it is human nature, but yes. It isn't a bad plan to be at least a little secretive with everyone you see here. It's unfortunate that it has to be that way, but it's true. You never know who's going to try to knock you out of the running for the title, and how they will go about doing so if push comes to shove. You especially, simply for your boldness today."

"Most likely the second round of the games," Mariah replied calmly, though her mind was racing with possibilities. Not all of them were her original thoughts, but most either agreed with her or were similar enough that she didn't worry too much about it. "Nothing that we need to worry about, I'm sure. They usually have a meeting after the party." The song that began to play next was special to her, and she couldn't help but smile a little wider in reply.

"I'm glad that you stole me away for this song," she whispered so that others couldn't read her lips, but could still notice her talking. It was always fun to tease nosy people once in awhile. "I always hate being with Damien during it."

"It's not my fault that you take the opportunity to ask anything of me, and you pick the one thing I don't expect. I never expected you to be such a Romeo when you could have asked me to reveal anyone's strengths or weaknesses.Including the current King." She smirked so that only he could see it and continued. 'I honestly hope you can take the title, though. I really do. But there are others who want it just as badly as you do. Some of which will do whatever it takes to get it. Mariah returned to her table she had sat at earlier for the meeting, leading Alex with her. Damian stood across the room from them, she noticed, watching them carefully, but at the same time not watching them at all. It should have been unnerving to her, but she was unfortunately used to it. "Unsettling message? I wonder what about..."

"Either they're trying to boost the theatrics to match your own finesse, Romeo, or there's some kind of twist to this year's games," she whispered to Alex, making sure to cover her mouth with her hand as she did to keep eavesdroppers from reading her lips. "Either way, I would pay close attention."

"And if you catch something that may seem like a hidden clue, take it as so. Don't let anyone else know, just in case, if you truly want that title."

"Ouroboros... I haven't heard that name in awhile..." Mariah thought to herself after the chief gave his announcement. Alex seemed to tense up, and based on his thoughts, he had good reason to. She couldn't tell why, but it was obvious that he had some issue with this group. At least she wasn't alone in this feeling. She reached over and grabbed his hand under the table, but kept her gaze forward. "Whatever's bothering you, don't let it show. Any weakness shown will be used against you, and that's not something you want to happen this early in the game. Wait until you're alone in your apartment and let it out then, because yes. People will use even the smallest of details against you as it comes closer to the end..." she thought, her mental tone somehow soothing.

X-Zepher shouted from his seat all the way in the back, "I've got a question for you chief, now that this is serious, can we cut the crap with Hero TV and actually help people?" He took a long gulp of his drink and stood up, he was obviously intoxicated. "I've had it up to here with my face plastered all over town, and the stupid "King of Heroes" title is garbage." A small whirlwind formed at the base of his feet, causing him to levitate, "I'm through here, kiss my ass chief, I'll catch this snake all on my own, and not for any damn points either!" He blasted a window and dove through it, wind surrounding him so completely it seemed like he was the eye of a tornado with the building as it's base.

Not for the title, mind you, but just in general..." she thought to Alex as she stood, taking her hand back as she did in a way that no one else would notice. "Do you need me to show you around town, Mr. Cross, seeing as how you're our newest member, or do you think you found enough of it out on your own earlier?" She turned to him as she spoke, but watched Damien leave the room out of the corner of her eye. She received a mental message from him that sent a small shiver down her spine, but she played it off and continued to smile.

"I can fill you in on anything you may have questions on if you wouldn't mind walking me home. Do we have a deal, Romeo?" she asked a little playfully, though she was clearly serious about her offer.

Alex: actually I haven't really seen town yet truth be told I just arrived alittle while ago and of course how can Romeo just leave Juliet to walk alone by her self ( he smiles playfully) whenever your ready ms. Psyren I'll gladly walk you home

"Juliet?... I hope he's not planning to lay down on his blade for me already, because if things keep going like this..." She forced the mental image from her mind and laughed it off aloud, lacing her arm through his formally. "Ever willing to be the gentlemen, I see. You do know that in being like this with me, your fan club members are going to get upset before they even have time to make those bobble heads, right?" she playfully teased, hoping to get him back a little for his earlier comment.

"I'm ready whenever you are, Mr. Cross. Lead the way and I'll show you as much of the town as I can before we make it to the apartments. After all, it's not really fair that you're the only one here who doesn't know the town like the back of your hand, now is it?"

Alex: allright then ( he walks outside with her) if it's too much trouble then don't go through anything extreme though you do have a point about that though I really would be clueless Infact I was lucky I caught the few today that I did now then which direction ( he begins to head home in the direction she shows him) wow stern old sure is big its easy to get lost here isn't it? I'm sure I can always win back over the affections of my soon to be can club members I'm sure I have enough charm ( as Mariah shows him parts of the city he looks around in awe for seeing the toy the first time as he takes mental notes of any short cuts he can find as thy head of to her apartment)

"But showing you around is nothing out of the way. We were all new at one point or another, and we all either had to figure things out on our own or make friends fast. You just lucked out that you interested me is all." Another laugh escaped her lips as they entered the main part of the town. She began pointing out various important locations with her free hand and answered any questions he asked as best as she could.

"Finnaly." Evan stands up and leaves quickly getting into the same van as before and driving off "Arrogance is a plague among power users, ultimately causing more destruction then there needs to be." A voice rises from the front seat "Yeah, yeah, I've heard this all before. Every time you're around power users you turn into such a downer." Evan pulls his mask and helmet off "I can't help it. It's in my nature to hate the ones that power gives them a right to do whatever they want. Weakness makes it so much easier to enjoy life, you aren't blinded by an idea of being better than others." Evan takes another pill "By the way, this medicine isn't helping." A laugh comes from the front seat and is followed by "There is no cure for a hangover, those will just keep you from puking and reduce pain from the headaches." Evan lays back growling "Fine then I'll sleep it off, take me home!" "That's why you're in my van, seriously get a license already." They pull up to the house and Evan jumps out. He looks back and waves. "If I had a license I wouldn't have an excuse for ditching the heroes." Evan walks inside and the van pulls away, he closes the door and falls onto the couch. A few moments later he is completely asleep and snoring mildly.

They were slowly getting closer to her apartment, and so far they had covered a good area of the town. They wouldn't cover a small region in their walk, but it wasn't too important. Besides, she could always show it to him the following night if he was truly curious about it.

"The mask fits you well, at least according to your fans. They don't need to see your entire face to tell if you're attractive or not, by the way, because they've seen enough that they like," she replied after his questions fell silent. "But a lot of fans are somewhat like me, and interested primarily by your powers, so don't let anything get to your head just yet. You have just arrived and no one has really gotten to know you yet." She looked away from him and noticed that they were only one block away from her apartment. "It looks like I'll have to leave you in just a moment. Is there anything else you feel you should ask before I have to leave you for the night, Romeo?"
