I guess I should look up tutorials... I'd hate to learn the head skeleton thing and mess up what I already can sorta do. I think after getting the head shape, getting the neck position and shoulders right is the next biggest problem.

You're welcome~ I recall in elementary school that we learned how to make something KINDA like a scratchboard paper stuff. We colored a picture with crayons, painted over that with black tempura, and then used a toothpick or something to scratch that off (but not totally).

Blagh, I have a lot of trouble with smudging... especially in the area around the head, and that's where the most minute lines really make the difference. Sadly I bought a tablet and never use it. I know I should but... it's so hard. D:

I've been trying random manga and anime lately. I went to a bookstore with my aunt once, saw that, and thought the cover art was nice. I flipped through it a bit and thought "What the hell, it might be different". I've only got the 2nd manga though, but I like it. I actually go through sub groups and see which one I like best. I rarely find typos and try to pick groups with the better grammar and good font.

Gah I hate that, I want to see how it ends, and then I'm like "Noooooooo~". Sometimes I put off watching the last few episodes so I don't get all sad that I don't have to look forward to it anymore.

Oh yeah, that part... it made me think back to watching Higurashi. Ohhhh the memories~

Trust me, learning stuff like that can't mess you up. It'll help you in the long run; and art is something that you have to work at, y'know? My older sister has been drawing fancomics for years and she draws pretty much every single day! *__* I can't remember the last time I've seen her just stop drawing or not practicing xD Even pro's had to learn that stuff. The guy who made Hellsing...his earlier mangas....they were a lot worse than what my drawings are XD the guy didn't know crap about anatomy. Here I'll prove it! Ah but anyway; hehe lucky gettin' to use Black Tempura; we just colored over it with black crayons and it still worked for us XD But those are neat!

As for tablets, they're tricky at first but trust me, you DO get use to them eventually. It's much easier for me to work with xD 'cause I can mess up as many times as I want and not care about smudging.

Y'know, I really ought to invite you into a livestream session with me sometime That way you can watch me draw and see how I start off with the skeleton and stuff. I could even have my mic on so I can explain it without having to stop and type all the time xD

EDIT: Since I didn't mention Durarara yet; I've seen episode 12, but I should continue the rest tomorrow. Today I was busy watching the history channel mostly XD

I guess that's true... I'm just sorta stubborn and never really learned how to do these things. I had a printed off tutorial page from years ago and used that for starting out, then I just observed lots of pictures and stuff and tried to figure it out from there. God I wish I drew every single day... but then I like doing nothing/other stuff too much too. I have waaaay too many games I want to finish and manga to read.

Yes, Durarara should be brought up... I've yet to watch Episode 15. :D;; That was partly due to some trouble the subbing group was having and it made me depressed that I'd have to look up new subs, but things are fine now. I've just been really really busy lately... can't wait for school to be over.

Sorry to change the subject back, but...I could hardly tell that was a girl in the picture aside from the chest, although I could tell right away from the eyes that Hirano Kouta drew it.

Anyway! I haven't watched anymore episodes since 12. I've gotta say, that doctor guy pisses me off. (For some reason I can never remember his name... ^^;)  STOP CRUSHING CELTY'S DREAMS DAMMIT!!!!!

I can always remember his first name, Shinra, since it's the name of a singer I like... although I think it was her former name, since I've been seeing her called Niira Etsuko (instead of Shinra Etsuko) as of late. She does music for Higurashi and Umineko related stuff (I THINK Doujinshis... I find her music on those MAD videos up on Youtube and whatnot).

I tend to like Shinra Kishitani most of the time, but sometimes I just think he's an asshole. It's a weird like-hate relationship... since he's funny and nice one moment, and then seems like a devious bastard the next. I might like him only because he takes care of Celty, though... not sure. I also really like the whole Celty x Shizuo idea. It's not implied, but she sorta ranted about him in episode 15, which was pretty cute on her part. Episode 15 was quite interesting btw. Started off a little slow, but then it picked up.
I just hate how I have trouble remembering all the other characters who don't come up too much but then again they seem like a pivotal point in the story. Makes me feel like I'm missing something every time they say a person's name I'm not familiar with. =/

They look ridiculous, especially the one with the bug-eyes. And, "pinworm"??? What the heck? That's a weak insult. May as well call someone a stupid-head.

Also, I don't see how that one guy could stand to be around the stalker chick still. She's so annoying. He even tells her everything about their relationship is fake, yet continues to embrace her. WTF?

For some reason I thought it meant she was "loose"... since it's kinda implied she's been abused in that way... I think... or something along those lines.

That's because they's both insane in the membrane. Obsessed guy is using her as a crutch for the thing he loves until he gets said thing, and stalker girl is fine with the off-hand affection because it's directed at her... sorta.
It may be horribly messed up, but it'll be one hell of a story to tell the kids, right?

Apparently my subbing group lost a translator, gained a new one, then lost said new one AND an editor, sooooooo I gotta catch up later. I'm on 15 so I think I'm only 1-2 episodes behind. Been busy with finals and taking care of my mom.

Also, that stalker chick and that one guy...while I think she's stupid for still liking him in the first place, I know what it's like to be crazy in love with someone, (emphasis on crazy) so I can't exactly argue with that. I'd probably do the same thing if it were to be with someone I cared about, 'cause I'd crave their affection too much, 'cause I'd still be conscious/able to receive it. (Unless he suddenly started treating me badly, depending on who it was I'd walk outta there XD)

Anyone read the new issue of Otaku USA? They had a DRRR!! review in it. I'd recommended the show to a couple of my friends, but they didn't seem impressed (they all thought the title was silly), but now I can show them the review and be like, "HA, see? Now watch it already!" Or something.... ^^;

I never heard of Otaku USA actually :'D But I'm so glad they gave it a review! (Also, I don't think the name is THAT silly..if we judged anime by their odd names, then Fruits Basket wouldn't be as popular XD *can't think of any other silly-sounding anime fff*)

I think FUNimation should have licensed Durarara and K-ON instead of Dance of the Vampire Bund and Baka test 8U (Not that I don't like either of those last two shows- never seen 'em, but I know Vampire Bund is gonna be censored on both DVD and its Online releases, and Baka test..well...K-ON is just more popular, as is DRRR)

I tried getting one of my friends into it yesterday...she lost interest pretty quickly and went to go do something else, and right before the part when Celty comes in and starts kicking ass. She doesn't know what she's missing! She'd rather watch Dokuro-chan or whatever it's called...meh.

oi...I've seen like...the first two episodes of Peach Girl XD; it wasn't bad or anything, but I could tell that it probably wasn't for me...and even if it were, I'd probably only read the manga OTL

i prefer to read also in manga because it is updated and more detailed. If your somekind of a creative reader then it is good for imagining what you read.

Sometimes I'll read a scene in the manga, and it's usually so cool/bad@$$ in my head, but then when I watch the anime's adaptation of it, I'm so disappointed D: Sometimes it's enough to kill the anime version of a series for me all together, because I can't take how "lame" it is or how disappointed I get each time I watch. (like Naruto for example)
