It may not be a power now, but I fear it soon will be.

Pokemon has proven that no matter who you are, even if you're made of stone, Thundershock is your weakness.

Slayers' Giga Slave.

Channeling the power of the strongest God in the world to obliterate your target, with a ~10% success rate. If you fail the spell, the universe will most likely explode.

Giga Slave doesn't channel Haruhi Suzumiya's power, don't lie right to my face, Mellow.

Aquarion Genesis of course.

I mean we get to see three naked people talk about how the merge is "powerful" and to the girls it's "So good!!!". I guess hentai does make it into some anime... Not to mention in the Genesis merge we see apollionius; He is just plain awesome!

Goku wins. Period. Just kidding. Honestly, my vote goes to omnipotent glowing green energy. It's the source of at least three of the most power super robots in history, Getter Robo's Getter Rays, GaoGaiGar's G-Stone, Gurren Lagann's Spiral Power... that and courage.

true that... not to mention it's the energy that Orbital Frames give off when the pilot of the frame in question is in a calm state of mind.

Gunbuster fought against the universe itself and won, so I'd say the most devastating anime powers are hard work and guts.

Isn't that the anime where some red-haired girl used some move called 'Buster Beam Slice" and spilt a planet completely in half?

That was the sequel, and it was actually Saturn's moon Titan (Maximum!). And for as incredibly awesome as Nono was, she only *almost* as powerful as the original Gunbuster that she was built to emulate.

Yeah the Diebuster was pretty cool, but all things considered, the Gubuster is FAR more powerful, that and the series itself is home to one of the absolute coolest "all your attacks" sequences of all time. It was like watching an SRW attack demo in full anime glory. Although in contest to Gunbuster's hard work and guts being the most devestating anime power, I'd say it still loses to IDE, after all, even if you win, you lose. Or System Turn-A.

So, Gunbuster's the original and Diebuster's the Sequel?

Yes. Gunbuster was pretty much Gainax's first well-received work since the fanfilms they did in college (in many ways because it returned to them, I think--Gunbuster was a perfect summary of the past and predictor of the future of anime), and it set the tone for pretty much everything they did after that. Diebuster was made about a decade later, and it incorporates newer animation techniques and expands on the themes and story. Technically it's more of an interquel, since it all happens sometime during the last 8 or so minutes of Gunbuster.

Yeah, I guess in terms of "devastating" it might lose to more double-edged powers. Still, there are deep ramifications to supplanting the immune system of the universe and asserting that mankind must survive at whatever the cost to the natural order.

That would be assuming that humanity was incapable of repairing said ramifications. And throughout the history of anime, that theme has been prevalent. However, in the case of certain things, such as the destruction of the universe via IDE, or the destruction of the interlace timeline via the Turn-A, they did manage to rebuild somewhat after the fact. This in retrospect proves your point that hard work and guts will in fact prevail over all other things. So, my hat's off to you Kuukai. (Although the rebuild of the universe after Ideon's destruction into U.C. isn't actually canon...)

another awesome power is the system Force from Ah! My Goddess. If ya ever try to seperate Keichi and belldandy, bad stuff happens! so It's sorta like norton ant-virus on steroids! :)

Now that I've watched/read The Law of Ueki/+, I'd have to say that the most devastating anime power ever is fighting with bad puns. (Yes, I'm well aware that that guy got his ass handed to him by Sano and Rinko, BUT STILL.)

Second in line is Byaku's uber-hair gel.

(also, ideals to reality is FOR LAMERS. Remember Robert's limiting condition? Also, yes, I'd have to agree that Ueki's power is awesome. But not even turning a candy wrapper into a bigass tree beats LAME PUNS.)
let's cross the sky, to the future!
