My friend told me there's DLC for this on Xbox Live, at least in Japan. It sounds like it's entirely stuff you can unlock anyway, but you can pay them money to unlock it sooner if you're impatient. Gah, I hate that. I think I even ranted about that in the news before. This creates a conflict of interest, and a motivation to make unlocking stuff as mind-numbingly boring as possible. I don't think Arcsys has succumbed to that yet, but I still wish they hadn't done this...
Kyero Fox wrote:my PSN is Kyero , I'll play ya later today if ur up for it.
Added you.
Kyero Fox wrote:anyone know how to unlock 100% story mode for Ragna? I did both lines with Litchi but im still at 74%. and when i do the one where you attempt to kill the freak but it says "The Alternate Truth has yet to be shown" or somethin.
Use an FAQ? I'm avoiding spoilers, and so far I've only had a little time to play, as Bang. I actually died to Hakumen in spite of my AWESOME theme music, which was funny since that might be the only time it actually seems like Litchi likes him... (That's right, there are post-death voices. Any true completionist needs to die a lot!)
Red Frost wrote:$60 seems like a LOT for a fighting game...
You get a lot, even if you don't get the deluxe uber edition (which I still would have recommended but I don't think that's possible anymore). Arcsys is known for cramming a lot of features, options, and replayability into their games. This game has options up the wazoo, it's the only PS3 game ever that lets you pick whether O or X is confirm (this is usually hardcoded into and set by the console - it's O for Japan since O means yes and X means no, and it's backwards in America for no discernible reason). And there are things in there, like "Arakune Text Mode," that I don't even understand yet...
Red Frost wrote:So yeah... still waiting for Best Buy to get it. Might check on Friday or Sunday. The thing is... I live in Iowa... and... we get things really slow sometimes... TxT The ones the store gets are Limited Edition too, right? I read the IGN article that said that no standard edition exists, and I heard mention of artbook in this topic.
I *think* the artbook was only available with preorders, but there's a lot less in there than I was expecting. It's the kind of artbook that might come as a bonus in Animage or Newtype, it mainly features draft character poses, not really full illustrations or anything. I guess the main notable thing about it is it's in English, but otherwise a bigger and better artbook probably either is out or will be out in Japan. If you can still get the 3-disc collector's edition though, go for it.
Red Frost wrote:Also, Kuukai, what was that thing you said about a Busou Renkin video game? If there's one in the US, is it any good?
It's not game of the year but it's fairly fun, especially if you like the series, and it provides an interesting look at what happens after the original plot arc. It's a beat-em-up, and gameplay is varied enough that I never got bored just playing as one character with one song playing the entire game (I think there are 4 playable characters, but I just played as Kazuya and selected "Makka na Chikai Mode" in the options, which changes all music to Makka na Chikai). I think it's only out in Japan, though.

You mean Track 4? yea, Bang's theme is baaaad ass... but I like Ragna more than the rest.

No, I mean like track thirty-something. The one where they say "bang!" a lot. If you do Fuu-Rin-Ka-Zan your music changes to that.

Oh, the number I was going by was the in-game one. I haven't used the soundtrack yet, but I'd assume it's on there... Yes, it has lyrics...

I figured if you get the Limited Edition for $60, it's worth it, since that's the regular price of most games for the most recent consoles... or however the hell it works. I was wondering if preordering was an option, but I found out about the game like... 3 or so days ago. <<;; I'll just pray it's in Best Buy by Sunday. I need more games for the PS3, I shelled out enough money for it... and can't even play PS2 games on it. D<

*flips table*

"Makka no Chikai mode"... that sounds hilariously awesome... Actually, I think I saw a small article about that game. I really did love the manga, and wished it could've gone on a bit longer. The series seemed like it had a lot of potential... that and I love Nobuhiro Watsuki's artwork.

Well I'd definitely say the PS3 version is the one to get, even if you can't get the collector's edition.

It is a pretty epic feature. If you like the series then I'd definitely recommend the game, though maybe only at like $30 or so...

I don't usually go for fighers, but I may have to take a closer look at this game and give it a try. After watching some gameplay videos and reading some reviews, this game looks absolutely amazing. If the game is as much fun to play as it is to watch being played, then I'll be adding it to my library. I am a little curious about which system to buy it for. Obviously controls would be the biggest factor, but I'm leaning towards a PS3 copy.

Well, the PS3 version has Remote Play, if that's at all interesting to you. From a control standpoint I prefer to use the D-pad so a 360 controller is almost unworkable for me, but that's just my opinion and ymmv.

I got a 100% for Ragna! There are three different endings for choice A. If you don't end any matches in your entire playthrough with a Distortion Finish or Astral Heat, the final boss is Noel. If you end some of them that way, the final boss is Nu. If you end all of them that way, you get to fight Hakumen in crazy **** mode and then the final boss is... well, that's a secret... Also, pretty much every Game Over is worth about 1%, so die die die!

And yes, this is all my way of saying I've gotten better since last night.

I sure hope so :) I was wondering if you have played at all before we fought. and now that I know how to get 100% for ragna, I'm off!

I just learned something Bulls*** stupid. Blazblue is region locked for the freaking 360. Now neither me nor the rest of Europe and Britain can play it unless We buy PS3s. WHAT. THE. HELL?

EDIT: apparently I can get a PS3 secondhand for £170, and import the US version of Blazblue for PS3. Maybe I do have a chance after all :L

also, here's something that might brighten your day:

My PSN is Narfness. Bring it on.

I'm almost halfway through all of non-hidden story mode. I like how Noel has an entire story path devoted to Litchi getting drunk and dressing her up like Guilty Gear characters... (Lose to Tager then Distortion Finish everyone else)

All I had time to do before that match was figure out how to make Bang's themesong play. Outside of that I was trying to play Guilty Gear, I didn't even know the basic system features like rolling or guard libra. Now I do..

Eww... It is interesting how Rachel is among the most powerful characters in the game, though. She's distanced from everything. Notice how simple the chapter names are in her story mode...

Arcsys has no publisher in Europe. You should start one, you could make a fortune. The 360 region-sometimes thing is one of the reasons I got a PS3 in the first place... ^^;
