Ok I made a bad comparaison. My bad.
What I meant was that good graphics and effects help you get the feel that your moving fast.

You mean ike an optical illusion, right?
For some reason, don't ask me why I can't explain it, I like Robotech's mechs the best. I'm not gonna try and compare them to mechs from other series. That's like comparing popcorn to a screw. Yes, you can find both in your bag of popcorn at the movies but that's as far as the similarities go.

In reality, most of the AC's are moving at speeds of over 300MPH with basic boosters and over 1,000MPH with the OB Core booster, but because of their size it doesnt look like much.

Transformers beat all them. For one thing they are living machines, not robots piloted by humans. Which means that they don't have to worry about passing out at high speeds and they are a lot faster in moving since they don't have to manipulate controls to move, they are the mech. I bet Starscream and other transformers that can turn into jets could fly much faster than any of our mechs, just because they don't have to worry about blacking out of dying from the G-Forces on them.
And for those of you that would bring up size. Well they come in a variety of sizes from the smallest like Bumblebee to the largest like Metroplex, who is the size of a city. And even if non of the big guys are around there are teams that can combine into a larger robot like Superion, Devastator, Defensor, Bruticus, and Computron. Though out of these combiner teams the Autobots seem to be the best because the Autobots work to together better than the Decepticon teams. For instance the Contructicons are some of the best arcitechs and builders known to Cybertron, they are considered geniuses, but they have such differning minds that when they combine into Devastator the resulting robot is dumb as a doornail. Where as the Aerialbots are all young average Autobots, but they know how to work together and when they combine into Superion they produce a robot that is not only inteligent, but also nearly unstoppable.
I doute it if any of your mechs could handle a battle against most of the transformers. Especially Megatron and his Fusion Cannon or Starscream with his Null Ray and high speed jet mode. And just the fact that they could change into any vehicle in the area means that they could easily ambush your mechs, just by acting like a parked car. One moment your mech is standing in a parking lot or street full of cars and the next they are surounded by robots shooting them too bits.

Skeith13: Im a huge fan of IGPX myself, but lets face it, thay have no weapons.
Astra: I played ZOE, i loved it and im dying to get the 2nd Runner, but Jehuty and Neith werent that fast, Anubis on the other hand would probably have beaten the SH*T outta all the rest of these mechs.
GamerKale: Robotech is like Transformers, except Veritechs dont turn their head to talk to eachother and arent gullible morons. Also, while Transformers are "Transforming" the wooshing backgrounds just make them and easier target to spot. And it takes a Transformer twice as long as a Veritech to transform, even in the movie!

Transformers have way more advantages than other mechs. For instance they could take the form of an allied vehicle. Like for instance many of the Gundam searies still use tanks. Transformers could take the form of a tank. If you see an allied tank coming your way your more inclined to think its there to back you up to you turn your attention elsewere. Then out of nowhere that tank could fire on the Gundam from behind, and probably with a much more powerfull weapon than the average tank would have. And they could always just simply transform into other mechs, taking the form of a Gundam, GM or Zaku, or even a mobile armor or battle ship. The possibilities are endless.
Also in the Movie when those jets come to the city to fight the robots they mistook Starscream as one fo their own. That is tell he openned fire on them. Its that element of surprise that gives them the biggest advantage.
Also many have special powers. Like Skywarp can teleport. One second he's in front of you and the next he's behind you blasting you in the cockpit. Some have super strength and can pick of things that most mechs would be able to handle and then throw it at your mechs. Starscream's Null Ray could temporarilly freeze your Mechs and leave them wide open for attack.

I vote for those FIRST Robotics competition robots. Some of those teams pull off some crazy awesome stuff. Plus, they're actual robots and not some TV show.

Big O FTW!!!
Great anime with some good episode. The action was pretty good as well as the mystery behind the series.

If you ever noticed, in the origional cartoon and many afterward, they could on choose between 2 forms, vehicle and robot. If they could take different forms they would im sure, but they cant. And cmon, any tank in a battle is usually killed in seconds, just watch the shows and u'll see that they almost always get destroyed immeadiatley after they appear.

Acually your wrong about them being stuck with only 2 forms. In the original and in many of the searies after it they still had robots that could take more than 1 alt mode. There's the Triple Changers that were in the original like Blitzwing, who could turn into a Jet and a Tank, Astrotrain who could turn into a train and a space shuttle, Octane who could turn into a tanker truck and plane, Springer who could be a car and a hellicopter, and Metroplex who could be a City and a mobile battle station. And there were some known as Double Spies that had 2 robot modes, one autobot, one decepticon and then a vehicle. And there were some that had multiple alt modes like Sixshot and Sixswitch in which both could take 5 alt modes beside their robot which if I remember correctly was Car, Tank, Jet, Gun, and beast. In Robots in Disguise(Car Robots) Megatron could take six forms, and then after becoming Galvatron he could take a total of 8 forms. And lets not forget that Optimus Prime had multipe forms as well, which usually meant combining with his trailor but still it is extra forms. In Armada Tidal Wave was able to have a robot mode, and could split into 3 vehicles, Battle Ship, Troop Carrier, and Aircraft Carrier. And those vehicles could combine into 1 space battleship as well as combine with Megatron/Galvatron. In Energon there was a pair of brothers, same design, called Shockblast and Sixshot they could be a laser satalite and laser tank as well as a robot mode.
Also in the movie when the autobots came to earth they were in a form known as a Protoform, which they could take multiple forms with. Like when they first came down to earth they were in what was called a Cometery form that in space makes them look like comets. And in Ghosts of Yesterday Bumblebee was able to take on a land vehicle form and then could go back into the cometery form for flight. And in the movie Bumblebee started as a 75 Mustang and then scanned and turned into a 2008 Mustang. So they are not just limited to just 1 vehicle form, they could always scan another and change into it if they wanted to. I guess the only limitation would be that the vehicle they want to take would have to be proportional to their mass.
My analogy about the tank was to show that they could take the form of an allied vehicle and be able to move around behind enemy lines without too much trouble and then strike when they least expect it. And like I said if your in a GM on patrol and you see a tank that belongs to the earth federation then you'll think its on your side and continue on with your patrol. Which is why it would be all the more surprising if that tank all of the sudden shot the GM through the cockpit while his back was turned.
In the shows the only times the tanks got destroyed was when the Earth and Zeon(or ZAFT depending on the searies) fought each other. You never see earth forces using their tanks for target practic.
Also in all of the searies when they transformers took on an earth vehicle form it was still made out of their own alloys and metals, which seem to be much stronger than anything on earth. Like in the movie they had to use a certain ammo in order to hurt the transformers since their conventional ammo had no effect. So transformers can take a lot more punishment than any earth vehicle could, so taking the form of a tank would mean that they would be able to take more punishment than the average tank, and they would have weapons superior to anything on earth as well. So that tank wouldn't just be shooting shells at you, it would probably be a high power laser or plasma beam that would cut through a mobile suit like paper. Though in fairness I would have to guess that a mobile suits beam rifle could probably cause some harm to a transformer, but that would be the only reason transformers would go for surprise attacks against mobile suits to not give them a chance to fire back.
But also some transformers have abilities that work great on the battlefeild. Like Hound could project hollograms that would distract the enemy away from the trasformers. Mirages ability to turn invisible would give him a huge stealth advantage over mobile suites. He could literally sneak up on a group of mobile suits and shoot them without them ever seeing where it came from.
