Anyway, on-topic:

I love Yuri, but I don't enjoy Yaoi. Not to say you can't, though. I agree with marthwmaster - I guess it's because girls are prettier than guys. Usually (READ USUALLY, MEANING FROM MY EXPERIENCES T#@) it seems that the girl on girl action is more cute and loving, as opposed to the guy on guy action (with the exception of AKxH o.o). Of course, I haven't delved into Guy on guy at all, so I'm probably wrong

I personally have nothing against Yuri. I've seen a few anime's that have had a shojo-ai underline and I loved them. Though to tell the truth I am more of a yaoi fangirl. Either way though, I don't hate Yuri ^^ I'm just not the most likely to go out and search for it, lol XD

The *chans are actually good if you're looking for sources of certain images or needing to request specific kinds of images.

The reason yaoi seems to generally be more "popular" than yuri may be the fact that for some reason, being a yaoi fangirl is seen as a generally accepted thing between anime/manga-interested people. Simply put, girls see it as an ok thing to be openly adoring yaoi.

Boys are more laid back with shouting about it and probably consider it more as taboo (which many people consider hentai and porn in general, even though we all know most people look at and enjoy it every now and then sooner or later in their life)

Plus, yaoifangirls are for some reason the loudest people around most of the time, so you just hear them a lot more.


That's what I think causes things to seem like yaoi is more popular than yuri.



Personally, I find yaoi a tad bit more gross than yuri (more specifically when you get to the more...graphic parts), also party because I'm a boy I suppose.
Still, it's not like I'll puke or scream at the sight of a yaoi-picture. I'd just rather not see it.

Yuri is usually girls with perfect bodies doing pretty things (that aren't quite as gross on the graphic side) and much because I'm a boy, I can't possibly say I don't like it ;P
