Well, you probably shouldn't have jumped to conclusions if you couldn't see it. Anyway, now you have it in text, and anyone with a working monitor and Japanese support can confirm the same pattern of shapes in the picture.

O.o Sounds to me like the only things you can read in the article are the things written in English, because not all of that excerpt is written in kanji.
Even I can tell that and I can't read Japanese.

かつて「The World」をプレイ中にスケィスにデータドレインされ、意識不明になるという過去を持つが、本人は覚えていない。
Actually it just says he can't remember that he was data drained by Skeith and became unconscious.
It doesn't say anything about losing his memories about The World or that he went into coma (except if they just used unconscious to describe the status of DD victims).

In the intrim report it says Sora became involved with project G.U. So that might add more to him being Haseo.
Could it be possible that Phyllo=Bear?

It never says he was involved in Project GU, but he was an example of a situation in which a Phase attached itself to a PC. When they were seeking out Candidates, Sora had cancelled his subscription and, as a result, could not be located.
And Phyllo=Bear? Not possible. Wrong name and wrong age.

Involved as that they took the idea of fusing Phases with player characters from what happened to him.
BTW, who is the boy who fell into coma before Sora, or did they mix up Tsukasa's gender?

Well, the fact that they show a picture of Tsukasa SHOULD be a good indicator. CC Corp assumed Tsukasa was a male in both the game and outside. It's not like they have a way to tell one way or the other.

I hate it when they have guys with a women's voice and women with a guy's voice. I was shocked when I watched the final episode of SIGN on CN and seeing that girl walking out of the hospital. I guess HM really does take any ideas from the JG in the US and Japan.

Relevance?
Doesn't matter, though, because Tsukasa has a girl's voice in real life.

Yeah considering Tsukasa is a girl in real life. But in the Anime SIGN(US version) Tsukasa had a male voice. I don't really remember the Japanese version because I watched it so long ago.

No Tsukasa was voice by a woman in both Jp. and English. Both times it was the same person who did Elk.

Brianne Siddall: Best known for her voice work of young teenaged or little boys in animes, cartoons and video games because she can sound like a male! Duh!

Oh sorry I usually equate male voice with male VA. Then yeah he had a woman doing a males voice but it still sounded female to me.

An's English voice sounded feminine enough to me.

"意識不明" is pretty much the most commonly used word for "coma" in .hack, you can check it yourself. And Haseo not remembering anything about The World is inference. We know that he played The World, and that he is a complete n00b in G.U. Either it's all an elaborate act, or he forgot pretty much everything.

Umm, he's talking about Orca. Later, he says "the first of the lost players had already woken up from
her coma." I forget if anything gender-specific was said in the original, though.

In that final episode, the voice inside An's head sounds male, but it clearly goes higher when she speaks, despite still sounding similar to Tsukasa. Just because Brianne Siddall commonly plays male characters doesn't mean she can't play female characters, she even played Kaochin in .hack//SIGN.

I thought the poster was talking about Jun referring to Tsukasa as a male? Meh.

Being out off topic for a while?
Well, is there any coma victim except the one I've explained in my last post (during the game timeline and caused by Skeith's Data Drain)?
I really want to know who Haseo is in real life.
Hehe.

There could always be one we're not meant to klnow about. Its just very unlikely that he would happen to be the perfect age and very likely its Sora.
